Guy who withdrew from head coaching due to health concerns withdraws from OC consideration probably due to the hours involved. The guy cant work intense hours running an operation for his own health. Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk
Let's go with Bill Walsh and Don Coryell while we're at it. Just stop with these pipe dream threads. Our coaching staff is in place, time to move forward.
Gase calls his own plays and why would his previous boss now come work for him? That and this would be another hire that could be viewed as a potential threat to Gase's job down the line. A strong pass on this one.
A little research will show that the year the Broncos won a Super Bowl, the year after Gase left from setting records, the DEN offense fell off to the bottom third of the league. They won the SB b/c of their defense, not their O.
Gary Kubiak would be a disaster here. A great offensive mind, yes, and under ideal circumstances would do a far better job with Darnold than Gase will, but he'd only be here for a very short period of time, given the recent track record and his health issues and all of that.
Not only does Gase call his own offense, which I'm sure was a big part of the reason for the hire, but with Kubiaks health concerns, I just wouldn't be comfortable with this move.
Gase is the lead offensive guy in the building now... no way he's sharing that spotlight with Kubiak .
Uh, they're long gone. The people "in place" are Bates and Rodgers and everyone else except Bowles has been replaced. It seems like you're not paying attention.
Rodgers is no longer with the Jets. Bowles hasn't been replaced? Are you still drunk from last night? Seems like you're the only one not paying attention. Like I said, the new staff is in place whether you want to admit it or not.
Learn how to read. With the exception of Bowles the coaching staff remains the same according to the Jets own website.
In your last post to me you wrote "everyone else except Bowles has been replaced". But Bowles was replaced so not sure what you were talking about. Also don't believe everything you read on the Jets website. You and I both know that Gase calls the shots now and Bates is done.
I may have misplaced a comma. To clarify, Bowles has been replaced, the remainder of the coaching staff remains the same. How do you support your statement that "Rodgers is no longer with the Jets?"
It's strange - Rodgers (along with every other coach other than Bowles) is still on the team web site, but articles about Rodgers interviewing somewhere refers to him being the former defensive coordinator on the team. For example: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/01/11/giants-interview-kacy-rodgers/ https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/...-rodgers-giants-interview-20190110-story.html https://www.newsday.com/sports/football/giants/giants-kacy-rodgers-jets-defense-1.25790149 It certainly seems obvious that he's gone, but it's not official yet, apparently.
