He only likes it now that we've done it. He was 100% for McCarthy prior to use hiring Gase. He even wanted us to fire Bowles during the season and hire McCarthy as soon as he was fired.
I was hoping it would fall through and we would beg McCarthy to come. And reason would prevail. But in the mythical words of Woodrow Wilson "It is all so terribly true."
So I wonder, does anyone’s opinion of Gase change if Williams does indeed come aboard as DC? I’d say as far as first moves on the job go this is as good as it gets.
That would be a massive plus for me. Didn’t love the hire but I’m warming up to it. He brings on Williams? I’ll allow that.
I think the only way my opinion will change is if we win. That's probably the same for a lot of McCarthy guys too.
I was just thinking, as Jets fans, many of us did not want a former Miami Dolphins Head Coach to coach our team. However, what if he comes in and does a great job, including dominating the Dolphins? That would make it even sweeter. Imagine Dolphins fans watching the Jets succeed and Gase hoisting the Lombardi trophy?
I want nothing more than I want that. But I think our best chance of winning it all was with McCarthy. I hope the image you wrote comes to be, but I have deep doubts.
So the McCarthy guys still think it should’ve been McCarthy even after all this complacency talk of the last couple years? Sounds awfully familiar..
So rumor is the Dolphins are hiring Brian Flores. Brian Flores? The LB coach for the Patriots? Who the fuck is that guy? Denver hiring a no-name, Cleveland hiring a no-name, Packers hiring a no-name, Cincy hiring a no-name, AZ hired a kid Guys--the pool isn't that deep.
On the bright side teammates, if we get Williams to help Gase, this defense will not be boring and predictable, the sidelines will be far more emotional, and Sam will be developed to match his best capabilities. It will be fun to watch how this movie develops. First game against the Fins a must watch. Now give Sam a stud RB with receiver capabilities and beef up the OL. Let the fireworks begin. As for near term goal....Go Chargers go.
