This would totally be a salve to the hiring of Gase.

We might be the meanest most hated team in the league.

    Good.

Better than the patsies (no pun) we've been

I guess he was looking at it in terms of baseball!

I feel like they are going to let Anderson go, since he struggled adapting to the 4-3 in Indy.

We might be treated to him and gase getting into fistfights on the sidelines every week or 2. At least it would be a reason to watch.

That seems like the writing on the wall.

    I would think that:

    1. McClendon: A space-eating NT is always welcome in any defensive scheme.
    2. Leo: Probably 3T now? [Maybe the news about Jets shopping Leo wasn't a fluff after all.]
    3. Henry Anderson: Probably gone.
    4. LE and RE: BOTH missing.
    5. OLBs: I don't know if any of them stays. 4-3 OLBs are more of a speedsters that can converge onto the ball than a run-containing behemoths.
    6. MLBs: Maybe Darron Lee can save his career with this scheme change. Either that or Lee gets canned too, with Williamson holding the MLB spot.

So if Jets turn to 4-3, we see at least 4 immediate holes. Two out of the 4 are of critical importance. [Pass rushing DEs] One of them can be addressed via the draft [Josh Allen or Nick Bosa] but the other will have to come through the FA. Also both OLBs will have to come from the FA. I don't think the LBs Jets have now fit 4-3 mold in any way or shape or form.

P.S. I am actually GLAD to see this change.

I still puke at the thought of the fucking EAGLE FRONT disguising as 3-4 during MANGINI DAYS. Yes. Jets were in this stupid 3-4 for A FUCKING DECADE NOW. Time for a change? YOU BETCHA.

Well, if he wants to be a real head coach he damn well better get involved in the defense.

  8. Leo/Mclendon/Sheppard/Pelon/Fatikasi are your D tackles..all of them can play on the interior of a 4-3. Outside Shot of J Jenkins being a rotational end/Olb who can put his hand in the dirt...Same w Copeland & Ataochu.

Second level i definitely think a Lee can play weak side in Space, need to decide if Williamson is gonna play Mike or Sam..

Anyway you slice it we’re in need of DE’s & either a Mike or sam.

Maybe. Just maybe. [Also you can hope Darron Lee can fill the Will spot as well. That takes care of two holes, if it does work out.]

I don’t see it, pass rush comes from front four, Jenkins not explosive enough off the line, also needs to have long wingspan.

Man if we get this beast I will dance in the streets... he would hold these underachieving players accountable something the last shithead refused to do... I would love to see him get in someone's face when they blow an assignment and then bench his ass.... I would love to see gang tackling all the time not maybe once a game, I would love pretty boy being stomped ….

    SIGN HIM PLEASE!!!!!

I welcome the change to a 4-3, but it sucks if we lose a guy like Copeland because of that. He's a gamer.

Might not be ideal, but much better than zombie Todd Toilet on the sideline and in charge of the locker room. I think the jets need a kick in the butt after Toilet bowl. The players did whatever they wanted under Bowles, including showing up late for meetings frequently.. Bowles even compounded the tardiness issue during an offseason interview. Instead of serving notice that players need to be on time, Todd Toilet when asked quipped something about it is okay because not everyone has an "alarm clock," or something stupid like that. Dumb shit--Not gonna miss him as coach!

Copeland, Jenkins, Williamson, Lee, Anderson.....I think they'd all struggle in a 4-3, plus we'd need all new depth.
Hopefully Gregg Williams is adaptive as it doesn't make sense to create all those hole on defense right now.

Williams personality and attacking defensive style way closer to Rex than the ultra laid back Bowles.
I can't wait to get back to inspired defense.

I'd rather Pagano as HC, with Gase and Williams as coordinators.

That way when crazy Uncle Gregg and dbag brother in law Adam start swilling scotch and arguing politics at Christmas dinner, there is a respected family patriarch to restore the peace.

Again, Maybe. Just maybe. We won't know.

I see more glaring hole in both DE spots.
