Gase hiring doesn’t bother me as much as not hiring Matt Rhule (1st choice) because he wanted to bring in his own staff. That’s ridiculous and shows what kind of hands we’re in.
Obviously, it didn't work in Miami. But no one knows his offensive scheme and the Dolphins had better talent than the Jets. So what was the selling point for the Jets brass. Can't wait for the press conference so that they can sell this guy to the fans. right now after all those interviews, this is the best they could do? Caldwell would have been a better choice. He developed Stafford and got to the playoffs. I don't know what the breakdown is of first-year coaches versus coaches getting a 2nd or 3rd shot.
Once we start 1-5 next year and Gase is ripping the media for all sorts of things as well as SOJ the headline is gonna read... "Head" Gase. LOL
I don’t believe this part one bit. Manish is the guy who had it and considering they are letting Gase bring in his own staff, it sure looks like the Rhule report is BS.
hmmm vance joseph as DC...... i believe this is the same vance joseph that the immortal Rich Kotite played against tim brown of the raiders. LOL Folks - this team is destined to be the SOJ regardless of who is in charge. LOL
its not that unusual in these situations that disgruntled stars tag onto another team and fit in better than anyone could have imagined. i'm sure this was discussed.
I can't say I like Gase but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. From what every expert is saying Darnold is better than Tannehill (I agree with that) he was qb coach for Tebow and helped Manning throw 55tds in a season. Lets wait and see. In Miami I heard he just focused on the offense and Birk on defense. We'll see from what people say. I hear Vance Joseph might be the choice if the Bengals don't hire him. I get Williams is a bit of a head case but if it is true that Gase just focuses on the offense get me Williams to be his Wade Phillips and lets see what happens. I'm not happy today. I'll sit on it for awhile. Come March we'll sign some players, get excited and then the draft and training camp and I'll be ready to root for the Jets. 9 months of waiting for a game is a long time and come September I'll be ready to root for them even if dare I say it Bellichek was the coach. It's the Jets. 35 plus years of this team. Can't stop now no matter how hard I try.
relax folks and have some fun with this.....dont get to crazy. i used to get crazy with this team in my younger days (mostly 80's and 90's with michaels, walton, hickey, coslet, kotite, steinberg, etc etc) and its just not worth it. the media storm is going to be gold. pure gold. and that will fuel gase even more!
TTHHHIIISSSS.......this may be the immediate fallout. Not sure to what degree but some guys will definitely think twice and 3 times.
Gase’s agent is a genius... basically he set Gase up with Sam’s #, since Sam is also his client , and had Gase make his pitch to Sam . He knew Sam was going to be involved in the process & that’s why we got Gase . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't feel one way or the other about Gase, could be good, could be awful. I have a similar feeling about Mccarthy. I don't understand the allure some people have about Rhule, he was a mediocre college coach with little pro experience.
This morning, Boomer Esiason said he spoke to Christopher Johnson last night and this is specifically not true
Gase has a losing record in the NFL. I didn't want Rhule either but would be more optimistic with him then Gase.
