We'll see - I don't think Gase can afford to be anywhere near as bold now after pissing nearly all of Miami off. Who was gonna take him after everything that's come out. Maybe they know something we don't. I thought I read Rhule was told he couldn't bring his own staff in but I may be wrong! Either way, dreadful dreadful hire by the Jets
They interviewed some pretty good candidates and took one of the worst of the bunch. Not surprised one bit. That 100 million in cap space should be an easy sell with this asshole at the helm.
Gase Offense is huge on rac. I definitely think more motion is necessary to exploit mismatches. From what I’ve seen so far tho I like it. His QBs are always high in completion percentage so guys are open. Just need guys who can make things happen with the ball when they catch it.
Im waiting to see his salary. I'm willing to bet it's considerably lower than the $8-8.5 mill per season McCarthy would have cost. Gonna need every penny to overpay scrubs to come play for him. Some pretty respected players knocking him Guys like Cam Wake, Frank Gore , Rashad James, Jones, Ajayi, besides Stills , Landry , Phillips, Drake etc.
Gore went to Ross and complained about him and wanted him gone. Never said anything positive about him “We never honestly had an identity. When you don’t have an identity as an offense it’s hard because you don’t know what to go to when things go wrong. You’re just trying stuff.” - Miami Dolphins OT Ja’Wuan James. So what do I hear? I heard a surprising number of veterans, including SURPRISING ones like Frank Gore, Kenny Stills, and especially Cameron Wake, all rose up and disavowed Gase privately. Wake and Stills directly to Steve Ross. Kenyan Drake wanted a trade if Gase remained."
If you consider 62-64 % completion high, ranking mid 20s out of 32 high, then I guess so. I believe you meant YAC. So if your Offense is predicated on YAC, why 1 bunch your receivers into one spot vs spreading out the D to get open in space. And 2, why not play your faster, more elusive players ?

Tony Paige played an introductiry press conference this morning, with a statement by the Gase. The Gase was all enthusiastic, and positive, and talked about how much he learned from his mentors, and how he was eager to bring success to the franchise. When the clip was over, Tony Paige said it was from the press conference when the Gase was introduced as the Fins’ new coach. Let’s go Jets!
Darnold's a rookie, not a seasoned vet. If Darnold's at 62-64% after another year Gase shouldn't get to finish his contract.
The coaching carousal is whisper-down-the-lane season, so rumors run rampant. Rumblings that Gase was some sort of caustic presence who alienated Dolphins players were overblown or just plain untrue. One giant myth: Gase did not lose the Miami locker room. Frank Gore, one of the team’s veteran leader, also did not privately chastise Gase as had been erroneously noted. From Manish Mehta’s article. So yeah nothing confirmed just reports but it works that way on both sides. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ny...ing-search-20190109-story.html?outputType=amp
That’s on Darnold. Gase has always had guys perform above their career averages. The offense is designed to get the ball out quick to your playmakers. I also said mid 60’s. If he can flirt with 65/66/67 this year and then take that next step year 3 into the 70s then we’re in good hands. Y’all need to relax, this is embarrassing lol
