I was just thinking, now that we have the head coach and play caller from a team that was bottom third in the league on offense, I hope we bring along the offensive coordinator as well.
Someone had a post a while pack, when we signed Vick, asking “what would it take for you to give up on the Jets.” This is pretty close for me. I’m really not feeling good about his one! Not that I did about McCarthy, but I feel lousy about this one. Although I guess it could have been worse, not only could they have brought in Rhule, but they WOULD HAVE had he let them pick his coaching staff! Wwhhaatr??!! This is part of the problem, what coaching would ever agree to this? And not only that, why would the brothers Johnson think they have the right to? I have a funny feeling Mac is staying here for a llooonnnggg time!
You guys need to relax. Give him a chance. Rumora are that Vance Joseph will become DC. That’s a good sign that a coach like Joseph would want to come back. So the issue is that he yelled at a billionare? And? His players didn’t like him? So? Do you think anyone likes Belichick? Parcells? Gase is a very good offensive mind. I’m going to give him a chance.
Didn't Peyton stay in school in 1997 so the Jets wouldn't draft him? He probably still hates the Jets.
I hate this hire but he did get 7 wins out of a team with less talent than ours. Maybe one of the lowest overall talented rosters in the league.
Big difference. When you are a multiple time super bowl winner you can pretty much tell the owner to go f*ck themself and get away with it. When you haven't won a playoff game, you don't bite the hand that feeds you like a smug little spoiled child. Wait til that first 3 game losing streak and the media gets on his ass. This will be entertaining to say the least....
Agreed. For all we know Gase was in the right. People talking about leaving the team over something like this without even giving it a chance is pretty ridiculous. I mean this guy has developed many QBs. Darnold is not tannehill, the results should be better and the most important thing all along was getting somebody who can develop QBs.
I hate this decision but I feel better about this than I would have about a college nobody running an NFL team. I will feel even better when reports come out about Gase telling Chris Johnson that he's a fucking moron that knows nothing about football so GTFO of the way.
You know what’s interesting? This apparently was our 4th choice..4th! Also, if Mccarhty was so great, how come nobody got him?
So he was the GM too or just had input? Everything ive read is that Tannenbaum was just as much of a fall guy as Gase was.Tannys faults were purely administrative? I also dont just mean roster management i mean the whole operation.Scouting/management/Player development. They are more directionless & clueless than the Jets
