He yelled at the owner for suggesting they look to improve the O line which was terrible because he wanted defense.
This was the worst possible hire by a mile. Caldwell would have been a better option. This guy got publicly lambasted by his former players and this is who we are going to sell to all the free agents we are trying to sign with our $100 million? Unreal.
Does anyone want to buy my top quality Jets memorbilia? All autographs come with a certificate of authenticity. I'm done with this team until we reach the playoffs. Please take this garbage off my hands.
I hope he's great but hiring the just-discarded coach from one of your biggest rivals is tone deaf. McCarthy had problems at GB but at least we could know that he's won a Super Bowl.
You got that out of my post?? Nope. I live alone, and in peace. The only yelling in my house is from me, when the Jets are on.
Can I sell it back to you at 3 times the price when we win the Super Bowl? Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk
Typical Johnson mentality, give up no control, and get the cheapest option. I am glad that I saw a winning Super Bowl. Sadly I don’t think that we will see another as long as the Johnsons own this team.
The Dolphins and Packers have won the same # of games the last 3 years. One of them had Aaron Rodgers and an atmosphere that until partway through this season seemed hunky-dory. The other was a dumpster fire that Gase might have tried to save at one point but eventually just threw more matches in. I'd rather have Gase.
No, I'll have no use for it when I'm dead of old age. Also on a serious note, no, I just don't want it. The only two piece I'm keeping are a signed football from Joe Namath and a football signed by all the Super Bowl III Jets.
You realize he had full control over the roster in Miami and the "clueless roster management" you mentioned was all his doing?
I said in the original Gase thread that I didn't want him, so I'm not going to change my opinion now. The last time the Jets hired an NFL head coach who had just gotten fired was Rich Kotite, so at least he has that going for him. Glad Darnold supposedly likes him, but he's a 21-year-old kid, so what does he know. I was much more positive about McCarthy (there is absolutely no comparison of his body of work and that of any of the other candidates), but that did assume that McCarthy could change his approach in some ways. Unless Gase immediately removes the stick that was shoved firmly up his ass in Miami this will be an unmitigated disaster with the media, and it will get ugly very quickly; hopefully he realizes that. He's young enough to change, something that was a real question with respect to McCarthy. And no, I'm not quitting being a Jets fan, but I've gone long stretches without watching that many of the games of teams I rooted for when they were really bad (including the Jets), so it's not like I can't do that again if this all goes swiftly down the drain.
