What a fucking shame. The worst possible candidate gets the job. Should be fired right about the time Darnold is due for his big payday.
Haha, well he's 10-8 against the AFC East over the last 3 years, which includes 2 wins over the Pats, so it's not bad.
I don’t understand this criticism. We had a players coach in Rex and a weak ineffective players coach in Bowles and discipline problems destroyed us for years They hire a hardass and you are worried about people’s feelings
Great accomplishment with one good team out of three in the division. His 5-1 against Bowles's 4-5 win teams aren't awe inspiring. 2-4 against the Pats and 0-2 against the Bills the year they did make the playoffs so...
I think people are overreacting, he did take Miami to the playoffs in 2016. His QB was injured and not so good and still was a lot more competitive than the Jets have been.
Someone should check on Belichick and McDermott to make sure they haven't laughed themselves to death over this. Only the Jets could turn down a Super Bowl winning coach who wanted the job for this guy. Unreal. I must hand it to ownership, though. Just when you think they can't outdo themselves, they manage to. Bravo guys.
I was alluding to him hardening up the snowflakes on the roster. But to the free agents, it’s a hard sell.
Was he my first choice? No. Was he in my top 3? Yes. He checks off all the boxes.I thought he was slowly building something in Miami despite clueless roster management around him. No body is questioning his smarts, his scheme, his leadership..it all comes down to player relations. Hes 40 years old w alot of football ahead of him. Hey if he works out we reverse the Bellicheat curse by route of the stinkin fish!
Miami Herald (1/3/19) "And Gase yelled at the owner about knowing more about football than he did. Multiple sources say a high-ranking club official had to intervene and tell Gase he could not speak to the owner — his boss — that way. Gase and Ross spoke every week during the season. And Gase kept those exchanges private as did Ross. But it’s clear there were awkward moments and even sometimes friction. Gase sometimes was stunned and even annoyed by Ross’ ideas that often didn’t make a ton of sense to him. By early December of 2018, each was seeing flaws in the other. Gase saw Ross as something less than a football man, according to one source familiar with the coach’s thinking." Wait until Gase figures out how much the Johnson & Johnson Bros. know about football....
It’s being reported Peyton Manning called Chris Johnson as a reference for Gase and sealed the deal as a result.
Thankfully the Johnson brothers will have minimal contact with Gase throughout the season so he can't insult them.
