The only upside I see with this move is that he brings a defensive change, he runs a 4-3. That’s a fresh start for Leo and Anderson and possibly Lee playing a true weak side position. Jets will select a DL to add to the line in this years draft to strengthen the new scheme.
Supposed to be a QB whisperer so let's see what he can do with a talented, young QB. Tannehill is a scrub compared to Darnold. It's nice to have an offensive minded head coach for once.

Gase will be good for Sam. He also knows how to beat BB. He is smart. Maybe smarter than MM. So I will live with it.

Its rarely rare in the NFL, or in life, when you have an absolutely no-brainer decision. The Jets had that with Mccarthy and still managed to screw it up. We needed a veteran coach with a proven history of developing a first-class quarterback and a history of going to the playoffs and winning a Superbowl. We needed someone to come in and right the ship and bring stability to a franchise with incompetent ownership and a GM who has been sub-par at best. Instead the Jets take a total shot in the dark on a young guy with no track record who has never won a playoff game. Mccarthy went to the playoffs 9 times in 13 years. I sincerely wish Gase the best of luck and hope he proves to everyone that he is a world-class coach with the ability to makes the Jets a consistent winner, but right now that's just a pipe dream.
I'm afraid you may jump.... Vance Joseph as DC , Dowell Loggains as OC. Gase calling the plays. His pool is pretty small. Doesn't get along with many people, has a very small circle of people he likes.
Nobody with any real value want to play here anyway, the only players we get we drastically over pay for.
