To win the SB, you have to build a solid foundation. You build solid foundations with good drafting, experienced planning and execution. When you don't have anyone in the bldg that knows how to win in the NFL, its a pretty good idea to GET ONE. Passing on a SB winning coach to try and make the SB makes no sense to me, but to younger fans, I guess its logical. Hey, this is how the Jets roll. They've been doing this during the entire 20year reign of the Johnsons. I'm just fed up with it.
According to the poll less than half of the people that want Mccarthy want Rhule. Almost every thing I have watched and read basically says Mccarthy is the no Brainer pick. Now could Rhule be a better candidate, maybe but if I am going to trust 2 people to go against the grain and amaze everyone with their incredible football acumen it's not going to be those fucking idiots at one Jets drive!
I’m technically a millenial. Albeit an older millenial. But a millenial nonetheless. Edit: will not hesitate to put people in the freezer or change user names per request.
Holy shit. Why the fuck do people think their thoughts need their own fucking threads? There is a whole thread dedicated to the coaching search.
Belichick went 11-5 without Brady, that’s a damn good coach as much as I hate to say it.. I just don’t know how good McCarthy really is when he failed to put up wins anytime Rodgers was out.....he basically did what any average coach could, a great coach would get results regardless Rodgers is the best QB I’ve ever seen when he’s on....he has been banged up and a little inconsistent but his talent is up there with anyone that played the game
I keep hearing this concept that McCarthy did things "with" Aaron Rodgers. Like McCarthy walked in and Rodgers was already a star and McCarthy came in and rode his coat tails. I keep saying it and saying it. Rodgers dropped in the draft to 24 and was no slam dunk, can't miss QB! And McCarthy was his coach for 13 years!!! Why do people keep missing this? He developed Rodgers! He made the decision Rodgers was his guy and moved on from Favre because of his work with Rodgers. Yet he get's no credit for that? The same people that complain that Rex, Bowles and others "can't develop a QB" refuse to give credit to McCarthy for developing arguable the most talented QB in the NFL over the last decade. So he get's slammed for "only winning one SB with Rodgers" but ZERO credit for making Rodgers the QB he is. I just don't get it. And people keep focusing on play calling and his supposed stale, old offensive philosophies. There is SO MUCH MORE to developing a QB. Fundamentals, ball security, how a QB understands defensive concepts and coverage, decision making. Remember Favre played little to no role in helping Rodgers. So who do you think was responsible for all of that to match with Rodgers obvious god given ability? Man....just don't understand how people can't see how McCarthy is not oly ther right choice, but the only choice TODAY in a critical time for this franchise. Even if he is here for 4-5 years and they don't win a SB, that fundamental coaching and teaching and stability is what Darnold and the franchise need right now. Not another coach learning on the job. Trusting our once in a Jet time franchise QB with a newbie coach doesn't seem smart to me but hey, what do I know.
Right but they deemed Kitchens to be more important to keep than to lose him and allow McCarthy pick someone else Smart move by them with the way Baker played
There's a reason they are taking this long to make an official decision.... I'll give Mac the benefit of the doubt and assume he is trying to put together mock scenarios of who the staff will be for each of these candidates. Because of how wide the scope is on this search, it wouldn't surprise me if it take until the weekend to get an official answer to all this.
CMAN move over make room on the ledge for me ! I can't believe that the jets are going to possibly blow this ! Now maybe they get it right finally and I am mistaken / out of line but I have history on my side and for Mike McCarthy to be sitting there and wanting this job is a NO BRAINER and a god damn layup !
Somewhere inside one jets dead end: "We're making a train load of money, no matter what we do. If we pay Mike $5m more a year than Matt, over 4 or more years, do sales increase by $15m over that period?" Keys furiously clacking. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
This is a completely false statement. McCarthy was not hated in Green Bay. Stop spreading bullshit to fuel your support of Drool
