Correct. If Monken is hired, it HAS to be as HC. OC is off the table.

However, he's meeting with the Jags today for their OC opening. I could totally see him taking that job on the basis that Marrone is likely on a short leash.

I can see how it would work with ownership that knows what they are doing - Pittsburgh, GB.

Jets and the Johnsons? Not so much.

It's not really lazy at all.

How many SB's has Bill and Tom been able to attend?

How different do their teams look, year after year?

Yet, they are still dominating everyone, year after year..

Maybe, settling for just a little better, isnt the best approach either?

Playing it safe with a guy who got fired with arguably the best QB in the league, maybe isn't ideal or the way to go for a lot of people?

Just because you and many others are content on the safe move, doesnt mean the rest of us is lazy.

It's lazy. I've said my piece on this. Go back if you want. If not, oh well.

    1. There's only one Belichick and we aren't getting him.
    2. Belichick was a retread too.
    3. It's lazy.

This decision is as easy as the decision to draft Darnold was. Don't try to outsmart everyone.
Hire McCarthy and don't look back. You don't last 13 years at one job without being good in this business.

So your point is MM sucks because he only won one Super Bowl?
Or is it that he sucks because he's not as accomplished as Belichick?

I think you are really reaching here.
It's not like our choice are between MM and BB.

So, the mindset that there is only ONE Bill, isnt the lazy view? Okay.

Bill was also an Innovative mind and had success with much less around him.
He certainly DID NOT enjoy the luxury of having the BEST QB in Cleveland.

Is it lazy to not want to go the with the coach the failed with the best QB in the league?

It definitely feels a lot more lack luster and lazy the other way around to me. I would rather have a coach that isnt ridiculed for having stale offenses, that has thicker skin, and doesnt fizzle out with the best QB in the league..

Crazy lazy I guess though... oops

Matt Rhule is expected to be the #Jets next head coach per source.

Does anyone know if this is a reliable source??

McCarthy failed and fizzled out? Skip Bayless could take lessons from you.

The voice for MM is here.

Also, how fun would it be for the M&M connection to team up together, huh?

    I just realized that. Anyway...

I never said he sucked, love how people perceive things.

No, I'm just not comfortable with the idea of hiring a guy that didnt do that well with the best QB in the league and reports suggested that even he was a little irked with the playcalling of MM. A lot of criticism of him having an offense that hasn't evolved or kept up with current trends. A guy who got fired for the Titans OC because he is considered to have a better handle of the current NFL offense and the way that is trending.

I think the concerns on MM are valid, I think I would support him if he was fired, but in no way do I consider myself lazy for not being all in on the guy.

I dont just fall in line because he has a decent W-L ratio and ONE SB with the best QB in the game.

The past is the past for a reason. The NFL Is a very, what have you done lately, type of beast. I just dont feel MM is open minded to his flaws and it cost him his job.

If he couldn't hang in GB, why in the world do people expect something else here?

Then I and others get called lazy for opposing the idea of MM.

    Its confusing. Risk the biscuit.

    All I'm saying.
