Do you have any idea what went on at Baylor prior to him coming aboard?

This is why people should do a bit of research before opening their mouths.

  2. No as i already explained i was mocking the logic bejng perpetuated by doing precisely that..comparing apples to oranges.
While i mispoke about his stop in KC..the argument doesnt change much.

Why would we care about Mccarthy being held in peril for being fired after 13 years by a pool of teams..namely the Browns & a gm who he himself was recently fired in jest? In fact terminated immediately after drafting the team’s best QB since Len Dawson.Thats literally my only point.

I agree with you. But, I think the argument for Rhule is that he is perceived as a miracle worker, a guy that can single handedly change the culture. A guy with exceptional CEO type leadership ability. But lacking in NFL experience and connections. Ruhle sounds like a very high risk guy where you have to buy into the hype. But, he seems to be widely respected but my guess it is a longshot to work out.

But we will see what happens. If you are looking for innovative with nfl experience and connections then Monken is the way to go. If your looking for the safe pick then its Caldwell. If your looking for the brabd name luxury high profile pick its MM. If your looking for the dream fairy tale pick its Ruhle.

I would rather have Richard then Rhule. Both have experience on both sides of the ball, both natural leaders Richard is atleast NFL not NCAA

Admittedly I don't know the details about sanctions, but he went 1-11 in his first year there (team was 7-6 a year before and even better before that). If that is called turning things around, I certainly don't want him on the Jets.

I guess you are not familiar with the sexual assault scandals that rocked the Baylor program.
He came in to clean up that mess and reboot the entire program.

The Baylor program was rocked with a sex scandal that destroyed recruiting and wiped out the Head Coach, AD and President of the University. There was a huge lawsuit claiming over 50 rapes by at least 30 plus players between 2012 and 2016. The Baylor athletic program was destroyed.

What exactly happened? He went 1-11. You mean to say most coaches would go 0-12?

I'm not pounding the desk for Rhule but he took over in the wake of the sexual assault allegations. That season would not be fair to use as a metric against him.

Hiring Rhule = multi-year rebuild while he does his OJT.

I like Monken as well but is anyone else concerned that he generated so little interest this hiring cycle?

I PERSONALLY like Rhule because he has shown he can command a room, structure programs and be a change agent for culture, not to mention he has proven he can handle exterior noise....which seems to always be around the Jets. I trust he can hire the right people to augment where he might need help.

McCarthy on paper should be the choice, but I already voiced my concerns with him, Because of his resume, he is viewed as the "safest"

Gase is not who we need as a HC.....not the right personality for NY especially! Guy was freaking out during interviews and arguing with reporters....he would get eaten alive.

Yeah, but he went 1-11. This to me does not constitute a turnaround. Then next year a pedestrian 7-6 record. Is the argument that he could not get any talent at all even the next year and he was able to get 500 record with complete scrubs?

You can't bring in Monken as an OC. If he has yr-1 success, there's a v high chance he bolts - and rightfully so - for an HC gig elsewhere. Then what?

Commanding a room is one thing, but at the end of the day, we need to win. The guy has a losing college record. This NFL - should we be getting the coaches with best success in NCAA, and not someone with losing pedestrian overall record?

Then Sam is on his 3rd OC in 3 years and on his way to becoming the next Jason Campbell.

Yes. Also Tampa didn't even interview him.
