I will be very upset if their first interview wasn't very thorough. Sometimes you only get one shot, and you have to make it count. I don't see what more they can expect to learn in a 2nd interview. It would be one thing if Mac had done the initial interview sans Chris and/or Heimerdinger, and then he would be present for the 2nd interview. But I saw no reports of any of the Jets "brain trust" (and I use that term lightly) not being present for any of the interviews or that any interviews had to be cut short or rushed.

Make McCown the QC and groom him to take over once OC gets a HC job, problem solved.

I thought McCarthy was supposed to be not good, why is he such a favorite here?

I don’t doubt it. McCarthy is a stubborn ass. He’s not going to bring on an offensive coordinator who is going to want to call plays and to be innovative. He wants to run what he wants to run. Reason 1A why I don’t want him anywhere near the Jets.

In addition, I can't see Rhule hiring Monken and Williams. Or either wanting to work for him. If we want Monken here to fix our offense, then he needs to be hired as the HC so he will be here for at least 3-4 years.

For you maybe, not for me. What in the heck has Gase done to make him part of a dream team? McCarthy shouldn't be listed there, either, unless he has already updated his offense, and agreed to upgrade the CS he had in GB.

McCown will need a few years grooming. I like Josh, but I wouldn't wanna dump that on him year 2 as a coach. If he even decides to coach right away.

I think the point can be fairly made that McCarthy is a crap coordinator because his system is outdated and takes perfect players at WR who can always get open and a quality OL and QB. If he hasn't changed his offense or willing to let the OC update the offense, creating some easy throws for Sam, scheming WRs open, and helping Sam get into a rhythm at the beginning of each game, then I want no part of him.

Jesus... sorry, but this is such bullshit. A head coach should be allowed to pick his staff. Doesn't make him stubborn.

With regards to the bold, absolutely nothing. Dorsey was fired for being too secretive and difficult for other FO personnel to get along with, not because his talent evaluation skills were lacking or because his FA moves and drafts were bad.

I agree that McCarthy isn't a moron there are pluses and minuses, and good points both pro and con.

Yeah let's get matt rhule whose passing offenses for all the years he was at the helm of temple were ranked

    95th as OC 2008
    89th as OC 2009
    82nd as OC 2010
    45th as OC 2011

    81st as HC 2013
    106th as HC 2014
    72nd as HC in 2015
    48th as HC in 2016

Then facing the shitty big 12 Defenses at Baylor

107th as HC in 2017- gets a pass due to Baylor being in a shitty position with players but still 107th is drek considering they still had 3 and 4 star players on the roster.

And finally in his big 7-6 year

85th in passing ranking in fbs.... in the big 12

Also he has never developed a half decent QB and never even developed any offensive players unless you include Robby Anderson who was let go from the team.

But yeah he turned around shitty temple and Baylor, might as well fucking hire Schiano since he made shitty Rutgers relevant for a few years

I would 'sacrifice' losing out on Rhule if it gets us Monken as HC (with input to the offense) & DC Gregg Williams. OC idk who Monken would want.

You’re right, what makes him stubborn is not wanting to adapt to the year 2019 and only bringing along yes-men as coordinators because he wants to call the plays.

Why Rhule? He has practically no NFL experience. How is he going to put together a CS?

Why "should" it be McCarthy? If he hasn't fixed/updated his ideas regarding his offense and his CS, then there is no "should" unless all we're aiming for is mediocrity.

What are you basing this on?
What perfect WRs has he had that were necessary for his offense to work?
