I have a sneaking suspicion that Christoper Johnson and Mike Maccagnan are having differences of opinion on who to hire. CJ will make the call, but I think Mac is trying to pound the table to make his case. CJ is probably operating from a more emotional/popularity standpoint and Mac is operating from a more technical standpoint. At this point, the only choice I'm really not high on is Gase.....hes young, smart and innovative but I'm not sold on his leadership/organizational skills....those are really hard to change. It's like asking a wolf to be a lion....
Aside from looking like a tool, and being a bad head coach. Why is this such a deal breaker? The guy spent years with McCarthy and knows how he works, it's McCarthy's system not his. As OC of the Giants in 2014-15, they had very good offenses. Eli had one of his best years of his career.
Saw this! I really hope this was just him in reference to the Colts job....but I don't think he will leave Baylor. I might wrong. The guy is very serious about his faith and he's very much a man of his word. He made a commitment to that school to change things around and that is not finished yet....if he left he would have that whole fan base accusing him of jumping ship.
We'll see next year. I'll accept everyone's insults with a smile, but we'll see how next year pans out in the coaching cycle. Right now I'm just an idiot that should be banned. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I don't need to watch I have seen enough and have family in South Florida that tell me all I need to know
Let me be clear, I'm not opposed to this move by them, my point was just that they were willing to bet on Kitchens who is vastly less experienced than McCarthy, in an organization that has been in turmoil and a laughingstock for decades and need strong leadership more than any other organization in football. This is very telling in how NFL teams view McCarthy, which is inline with how how myself and many other film watchers see his impotent playcalling.
This is the first time MAC and Johnson have done HC interviews. They may have learned things in some interviews that they want to ask a candidate about, they might want more detail from the candidate after the candidate has had time to reflect on their questions and there could be lots if follow up questions for both parties that have only occurred after the interview. This is a 3 to 4 year marriage a 2nd interview does not hurt either party and should be helpful to both. If they really love a candidate that should be it but if it's close expect second interviews. A lot can be learned in a second interview just like on a second date. This is a long term marriage and there is no need to rush it to save a few days.
in 1996 the Jets signed Super Bowl QB Neil O'Donnell. Clearly that was a great decision, no? Stop trying to make it as cut and dry as his W/L record and accolades. If it was that simple, you really should take a step back and wonder why he was fired mid-season, a rarity in the NFL...
They need to do 2nd interviews, a date night (already had with a couple I think), maybe fool around on the JnJ yacht with the talc flying. Then once that's complete they'll decide who they want. This is the Johnson brothers. Notorious for overreacting to previous mistakes, which is the most glaring clue they aren't the sharpest ginsuis Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
If McAdoo is our OC I should find something else to do on Sunday's. He'd ruin Darnold and I couldn't look at the wannabe slicked back hair. He was in over his head as HC. NY isn't cut out for him. Go elsewhere.
