    Me: "Are we there yet?"
My Daddy: "Shut up before I rap you in the mouth."

So, as to the new HC, are we there yet?

I love how social media makes this a millenial vs old heads thing. I'm 32 and I prefer McCarthy.

Change of scenary will do McCarthy good.

Just how bad was Todd Bowles? So bad that Mike McCarthy is looking like Bill Walsh to some people. McCarthy is a decent coach but it’s not like he’s a great one. Was this guy on your list of great NFL coaches in the league before we had an opening and he was available? Man the bar has been set so low.

I don't give a fuck what the Green Bay fans might be saying, it is mostly sour grapes anyway. And I don't give a shit what the talking heads are saying either because it is 95% sensationalist bullshit anyway. This guy coached the Green Bay Packers, a perennial playoff team mind you, from a division WAY tougher than ours, for 12 fucking years. Think about that - 12 fucking years ! How many coaches are there in the NFL that have kept their jobs with one team for 12 years ?

Yea, this guy sucks....C'Mon people, how fucking stupid can you get. I'm not saying he's the right choice, and I'm not saying he isn't, but he is CERTAINLY a viable and legitimate one, and he is CERTAINLY a step up from anything we have had for the last 20 fucking years or so.

A head coach's job is to MANAGE the team. Not necessarily to be the OC or the DC, but to manage them both. Doing that effectively takes experience, and Mike McCarthy has more of that then anyone else available. Getting a decent OC and DC in here takes credibility as well, and again McCarthy has more of that than anybody else available. Who says he isn't going to hire a sharp young offensive mind for OC to up his game ?

Jets fans....stop running around like chicken little and think this through...not that our opinion is going to make a freaking difference who gets chosen anyway.

Don’t know who this guy is, but if this report is true, McCarthy can eat shit.

    McCarthy is fool’s gold IMO

He was way too timid and conservative in big spots with Aaron Rodgers as his QB...ask any Packers fan

His offense also had no motion and was bad in scheming guys open, and it never changed over the years...Most of the big plays were from Rodgers scrambling around on broken plays. Where is the running game?

Anytime Rodgers has been hurt the team completely tanked btw

    Salary? Pay the man.

Control? Not full control, but control over the 53 man roster works. Perhaps some say in the draft (but not full control). Mac should take it since he can't draft for shit in the middle rounds.

  10. Bottom line is there is no perfect candidate & there is no waving a magic wand to fix everything that ails this org.

Dont cry for an experienced head coach & then bitch about why the experienced head coach is available or hows hes old..

Dont cry for an offensive wiz kid & then whine about the lack of resume.

Weigh the risks, advantages & realize there is no easy fix.Hope we make the right choice & realize there is work to be done

What has Mike McCarthy done to earn full control over personnel of a football team? Also I’m not quite sure you understand how ownership works.

You don’t want McCarthy having control of anything either

Would he leave Baylor to be a coordinator? I doubt that. He's making like $4 mill at Baylor anyway. A defensive coordinator in the NFL doesn't make that kind of money.

    Oh, I don't? OK.

Scrap that! Don't give him any control! I apparently don't want that

I’m going to hope you’re just being a sarcastic asshole and you don’t actually think that Mike McCarthy would have ownership of the entire franchise…

I thought they could just give him the keys. That's not how it works?
