Just sucks CMAN that we have to put our faith in these 2 guys, really scary times as a Jet fan. I think guys like me and you are way closer to being out the door than on the wagon
What exactly does this article prove? This is based on the belief that the Jets in fact WANTED Kingsbury as their next head coach, which I don't think is accurate. Reports are that they knew he was signing with Arizona but just wanted to pick his brain on offense. What baffles me is the fact that no matter what this franchise does, there is always criticism. I mean, I get it, that comes with anything in life, but this is getting ridiculous. There have been 8+ interviews as of right now. What does that tell you? Well, it tells me a couple of things: 1. We are being vigilant and detailed in looking for the perfect fit for the future of this franchise. 2. Jets brass cares A LOT about Sam Darnold and his progress. 3. We are not just hiring a "offensive" or "defensive" minded individual, but rather looking for someone who is well rounded and not favorable to one side of the ball. But most importantly, this tells me that Mac and Johnson are sticking to their guns and finding someone they LOVE and feel is the EXACT fit. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they went out and hired someone immediately, justifiably people would be in an uproar saying it was too fast and not enough candidates were interviewed. Now that they are doing their due diligence, they are "missing out" on people and are going to lose the fight for a perfect head coach. None of us know what is going on behind the scenes, nor do we have any idea who is on their big board for top candidates. Let's let this thing play out as it should
I think the inclusion of Darnold, however limited, was more to expose the candidate to the quarterback to see what the guy was like who is the most important one on the roster today. It was more of a selling point for a coach getting ready to choose between a handful of options.
Because he is such a leader of men that he can't get along with the guys who work for him or the guy he works for?
I think it's awesome! I didn't want him anywhere near the Jets. I was scared to death that they were going to hire him to be our new HC. It would have been just like the Johnsons.
I totally disagree. I could be wrong of course, but imo he would have been an unmitigated disaster, and probably would have made us long for the days of Bowles or Richie Kotite.
I'm confused, is Chris Johnson a terrible owner for hiring McCarthy if we hire McCarthy, or for not hiring McCarthy if we don't hire McCarthy?
If there's truth to the rumors that McCarthy is half retired and wants to commute in front PA (as opposed to living nearby), the Jets have to pass. Experience and successes be damned. All the tools and skills in the world can't replace fire in the belly. Jets fans deserve better than a half retired shlub as they're HC. An all-in shlub or bust, boys. Get a candidate that last a decade at least. No one wants to go though this again soon.
well duh, lol. All the other jobs are pretty much filled. Schefter with some deep investigative reporting there
Come to think of it, weren't there reports that the only job Arians was interested in was Cleveland's?
