meh. Such a desirable job (supposedly) and they settle for a first timer who's never been a HC before the Browns want to win now, but there may be some growing pains with Kitchens
Gase sort of reminds me of Marrone. Not a bad coach, but seems to be a bit distant and alienates the team. Not very inspiring
Well, since McCarthy is out and outside of either Harbaugh bro he was my choice, I really don't care as long as its someone that doesn't have to come in and take 4 years or more learning how to be the HC of the NYJ's. Since the Johnsons only hire newbies, so be it. I won't be around to see the end of this next rebuild and learning curve. Thats for younger fans to do... I don't have the time to waste anymore after 2020.
Pardon me for not knowing much about Rhule but I see a lot of guys pulling for him. Whats the thought around him compared to others?
Strikes me as a great communicator. Good leader. Guys love playing for him. Lots of passion. Took over two programs and stabilized them both I'm sure there's some negative but I just know enough about the guy in general. Grew up a Jets fan but that matters little
New top 3 in light of today’s news Monken McCarthy Caldwell Flame away for Caldwell but digging a little deeper,it’s not that bad of a selection. Yea he is 66, Carroll is older. Worked with manning, knows/understands to build around the franchise qb. Offensive background.
I really wanted a Harbaugh as well, but unfortunately they aren't available. McCarthy the only available guy with experience. But he doesn't blow me away either. I'd be ok if we got him, I'd be ok if we didn't. I definitely don't want Gase.
Yeah maybe. Weird dynamic though as Williams was the interim HC with Kitchens reporting to him, now that's going to flip? If he feels slighted for the HC job, he may prefer to move on. I don't know. Would absolutely inquire.
Amazing isn't it.. How often long time die hard Jet fans are put into these positions. We get rid of a incompetent HC and all the experienced HC's aren't interested in the Jets job. We finally get a FQB, sprinkle in $100m in cap space and we're still interviewing B-list candidates for the most important position in our organization. We get a few quality pieces, but we have idiots with zero experience evaluating coaching talent making decisions they're not qualified to do. They refuse to hire HC's with prior experience, but don't have a f'n clue how to spot new talent so they make the same mistakes over and over and over again hoping to luck up one day. B2Q, I'm done man. They have until 2020 to get this shit right or I'm walking. If anybody thinks this is just frustration, I can assure you I'm dead serious. If more fans and STH and PSL owners felt this way, perhaps Jet Ownership would go about things differently.
All we need now is for the Bengals to hire Hue and we should have a pretty decent coaching pool available. No reason not to be able to get both McCarthy or Rhule with Monken
