One of the biggest reasons why I wanted Kingsbury, he’s a young innovative offensive mind who couldn’t get poached.
I'm not even convinced they're looking for the championship coach, despite any public proclamations to the contrary. I think they really want to make sure Sam is developed and they catch up to the times. That's often the hardest step to take, and they've already got the QB in place. If Darnold develops but the coaching plateaus, that's fine by me. The job would be even more desirable in 2-3 years, and the team would at least be competitive already.
LOL. You should go back and watch the combine tapes and the throwing. He's a terrific athlete and has the smoothest throwing motion and best in the pocket footwork of all 5 first round picks.
Caldwell is not what the team needs, he has a long resume and experience, but he doesn't have the personality to manage guys like Jamal Adams, Trumaine Johnson, Robby Anderson etc. We need someone that can command a room. That's probably Rhule and Monken
That's interesting. Do you think that Kingsbury would have brought an Air Coryell (or air raid, whatever they're calling it) type of offense to the Jets? Along the same lines, do you think that any of the candidates left -- be in Monken, Rhule, Bienemy, etc. -- would be able to bring a signature offense to the Jets? EDIT: Adding some articles on Monken here... https://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bucs...ing-heres-why-and-what-it-means-for-the-bucs/ https://www.sbnation.com/2018/9/24/...buccaneers-offensive-coordinator-dirk-koetter https://www.bucsnation.com/2018/9/13/17857532/buccaneers-monken-opens-up-about-the-offense
Tierney of Tiki & Tierney show CBS Radio, a NY native and Jets guy, said he thinks Adam Gase will be the next Jets HC and he had some positive things to say about it
FFS what positives does anyone see in Gase? Dolphins players have been outspoken about disliking him as recent as this past season.
Its the truth though. Same thought used to go thru my mind when Dungy and Caldwell had him in Indy... u think these idiots had anything to do with Peytons success? U r kidding yourself then...
Really? Referencing workout numbers and tennis is almost cute, but show me this mobility on tape... The guy is a complete stiff in every sense. He doesn't move well in the pocket, and cannot extend plays. For a "pocket passer" he doesn't have much of a pocket sense at all. He's a statue back there, leading to drive killing sacks and fumbles. How can you possibly try to pass him off as athletic or mobile? He's a disaster, and will continue to get coaches fired while the excuses pile.
https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article223482025.html Article on Gase at the end of the year. It says the narrative that players didn't like him is not true.
I swear to god I’m just gonna quit watching football if they hire Gase, what the fuck are these two idiots thinking? I was kinda hoping that Chris Johnson actually was smarter than his brother but this would really be the last straw for me.
The longer this drags on, the greater my fear is that Chris/Macc will find a way to hire the wrong guy.
