I feel bad for the Bears kicker Kid may get fired Chicago needs a scapegoat No one has mentioned it but the Colts Chiefs will be a good game I was impressed by Ind Defense this weekend Predictions: Rivers, long overdue, takes a step forward and beats Brady Saints win by a field goal and put Champs to sleep Chiefs lasso Colts in a shootout....darn outa Luck Rams beat up "Boys And there ya have it Cheers!
Wtf was Nagy doing not calling the timeout immediately after the eagles got to the goaline ahead of the first down with 1:58 to go? You can run a play in 20, so he lost 25 seconds by letting the eagles run the play clock down before the first down play:
By the way, I have one question after watching this game. Why was the 2pt conversion try by the Eagles short? Can anyone tell me that? I thought the tip of the ball did touch the goal line. No? I mean, if Aaron Rodgers did that try, that CERTAINLY would have stood, no? P.S. And I have to wonder why there is no flag for so many blatant DPIs in that game. If it had been the Jets D, that's an automatic flag, no? [Either this is the normal and the refs last time just fucked it up big time, or... someone forgot to throw flags all week long. Not just this, all four games.]
That ball came out almost instantaneously to it appearing to be near the goaline. The replay certainly wasn’t conclusive to his possession. And how precise are the angles of the replay? Appearing to cross the line, especially at such a small amount and that high above it, may not indicate it actually crossing an invisible extended line five feet in the air.
We needed a straight down the goal line, ground level shot, and IIRC we didn't quite get one, just overheads and some that were close, but offset a bit. If he crossed, it was by a micrometer for a fraction of a second, and I'm not 100% sure he did, or that he was in control of the ball at the time. I'd have been OK if they had called it good in real time, but I see why they didn't, and why they didn't overturn. As for whether a star QB would've gotten the call? Maybe lol
Wasn't clear and convincing therefore the call on the field has to stand. There was one view straight down the line that looked very very close but was hard to tell with a defender's body somewhat obscuring the plane from the ball to the goal line. But certainly not clear and convincing.
Yes which should clear Cody Parkey from any blame. It was tipped, and he missed it by inches, of course a tip will redirect it by more than an inch from that far away.
Here is something that I heard a couple of few weeks ago but never posted. It's the Spanish TV announcers at the end of the Philly / Chicago game. I know it's a little dated, but IMHO it's still funny: https://soundcloud.com/casasalazar/eagles-win-over-bears-2019-wild-card-final-play
I think it's safe to say that Alex Smith's career is over. He's going to miss the entire 2019 season (no kidding). Good luck to him with his physical healing. https://nypost.com/2019/01/27/redskins-are-preparing-for-the-worst-with-alex-smith/amp/ EDIT: An odd place to put this (kinda), but I didn't want to clutter the board with an unnecessary thread and this seemed just a good place as any.
