I'm not in love with this hiring. They needed someone to come in and add a whole new look to the team, I fear Shannon will be afraid to really change the identity of the program like they need. Then again, he was a player there himself, so maybe he'll start to really get the older players there involved more in teaching the young guys just what being a Hurricane is all about. I will say that if a couple years down the line things are still shaky, not only will Shannon be gone, but so will AD Paul Dee.
To be honest i like it. I mean its been pretty dry with the available coaches, im not impressed with Rich Rodriguez and Mike Stoops.The only other one i would of liked was Mike Leach but he didn't impress. I like the hire because he has kept this defense great, he has great ties with the inner city teams and word out there is if Shannon became the HC they would consider miami. this is the best option out there. I like the Hire and i think he can restore the glory days with some help
