Look guys I am a big Harbaugh supporter ..but gut says the .2 brothers that are NOT leaving where they are Ask MM how he looks to improve his game on Offense (response to criticism) then Lock up McCarthy...end of discussion..you cant do worse by this guy and someone else might grab him...carpe diem
Of course. I was mocking those who think the world is filled with Jet fans just waiting to help us out.
If anyone is in the Morristown area, Jockey Hollow in Morristown is Maccagnan's spot to do "wine and dine" dinners.
Could they really fire Harbaugh considering the progress made with a rookie QB winning the division? I find it extremely unlikely, win or lose. I think you sign McCarthy before the Browns get him.
I agree. Jim was my #1. But you can't function on a hypothetical. They have to rank their choices based on who's available in the moment. If this is McCarthy, you have to go at him without distraction.
Interesting. They supposedly interviewed Gase yesterday, then had dinner with McCarthy last night. I wonder if they took Gase to dinner on Thursday evening or are not that interested in him.
I think he'd be an excellent choice, but I'd wait to see who McCarthy wanted. They could still keep McCown around as a consultant or assistant QB Coach or Offensive Quality Control or some such.
I don't, nor do I think he should be. He was awful this season. There's no way he should be brought back as a player, only as a coach.
Sam should play every snap. If he gets hurt, we're screwed no matter who the back-up is. Mccown is not coming back as a Jet coach
If Sam goes down with a serious injury, yes the season is probably lost anyway, but the backup should be at least decent. McCown wasn't decent this season. His playing days should be over. If the Jets re-sign Webb, and he shows anything at all in TC and preseason, then I think he should be the #2 QB anyway. Let the veteran they sign be the #3 QB. If the Jets like him and think he has potential as a backup or as a potential starter, get him some experience. They could possibly then even trade him for a decent draft pick. What makes you think that McCown won't come back here as a coach?
No...Their tightends have been dismal the last couple years. However, Finley and Lee had some really solid years until injuries put them out. Herndon would be fine.
As bad as the Johnsons are, they don't meddle in the football operations. Their problem is repeatedly screwing up the hiring and firings. So if McCarthy is the answer, he doesn't have to worry about interference from the ownership.
People don't want to accept this. So it's become the narrative. It's false but it doesn't stop folks from complaining about it. Kind of like how the Johnson brothers personally put asbestos in baby powder.
