(I believe this to be a separate topic from the HC carousel conversation, and as such I would ask that comments stay on topic with why BA's name isn't floating around instead of who you would or wouldn't prefer as our HC) I find this very odd that he hasn't really been linked to many teams at all, and not once to the Jets. I personally would endorse him as the best option available as he rounds out the top categories of HC traits most fans are looking for. Has been part of the development of 2 HOF QBs (and Palmers resurrection), has very creative offensive schemes, and has more experience than all other candidates. So where is his interview, or at least his refusal? Why is chatter around Arians so quiet?
Probably because he's stated many times that he'd only come out of retirement to coach the Browns. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-arians-browns-only-team-id-consider-coaching
- He's openly stated he would really be interested in just the Browns job - Only recently has he said the Bucs would be "interesting" - He's too close to Bowles to come to the Jets - /thread
Why Is No One Talking About Bruce Arians? Why? R. I. P. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .soon-to-be-R.I.P. .
Bowles is gone; he's not coming back. Taking the Jets job would indicate no disrespect towards Bowles. Having said that, I would not hire a guy who has already had some serious health issues and, like all of us, isn't getting any younger, not when the team should be looking to put someone in place for at least 8 - 10 years.
Like I've said on here for weeks, Arians would be a dream candidate. He'd turn this ship around in no time and get the most out of Darnold. It can't hurt for the Jets camp to reach out to him but as has been known for a while he said he's not coming back except maybe for the Browns. I'd offer him the Pres of Football Ops job and let him hire a coach. We can only hope.
