Apparently the source of the rumor is a one time poster on Reddit, who didn't even drop this new on the official Jets reddit but some rarely used board Seems fishy. I mean come on black helmets? Who would agree to that?

Doubt it looks anything like this. I think we're getting an updated 80's logo. And either a green or white helmet
How would any of this be leaked to a cheerleader of all people, someone that low on the pecking order? I mean sure it's possible. The fact that it was a lighter green we could've surmised already from what the Jets used in 2018 promotional materials. It was indeed a lighter green that looks to reverse the gradual trend of darkening the green in our unis since the 1998 retro rebrand And what of the supposed black, no mention of that at all. If the team was going to a black heavy look surely the cheerleaders would be wearing a bunch of it as well
Then that's really not what they said it would be... they said it would be completely different than what the uniforms were before... the jets already had all white & all green helmets... I actually like that black one... it looks Very Sharp... imo
It’s cyclical. The dark helmets were “in” in the 80s/90s.. white helmets were in in the 2000s. Dark helmets are making a comeback. I think the helmets will be green
Have to imagine people within the organization have already seen the unis or at least the color scheme so I don't think it's a stretch to think the cheerleaders have seen it. It's not like we're taking about the nuclear codes. I think him quoting her as saying "Kelly green color rushes" sounds odd for sometime who supposedly doesn't watch football. Unless he was paraphrasing.

It's from a reliable source though. This account is well known and his sources have been proven true in the past. Things are consistent except the logo, however it says nothing about them retaining the logo in the tweet. Just that it will also include a football and Jets wordmark. It could be tweaked or re-designed with different fonts/colors/sizes.
are drastically at odds with your expectations, and you can’t digest it, and you hate them, or if the new logo is just seriously dumb, how would you react? How would you react if the rebranding is a disaster to you, or if your were expecting a rebrand (which they’ve billed) and they just do a minor tweak here and there? Curious.
this doesn’t seem like something they should have been hyping for over a year. and have worked on for 4 years. this sounds like a huge PR blunder. A couple of tweaks is not a Nike Labs promotion. i hear u but i really hope they pull this off. they should have gone and done something truly vanguard. if you are going to do it , do it right, not half ass. People are expecting a NE level rebrand. Not a Miami teal-green to toothpaste-green and helmeted dolphin to clip art dolphin. They better not offing do what miami did.
I'm on your side. Based on the description, I would be really disappointed. But at the end of the day, this guy does have real sources and it's more likely the Jets will mess this up than not.
