I forgot to include Dee Ford and Frank Clark on my list. I agree that they should be included.

IMO you're wrong about no good WRs being on the FA list. Golden Tate, Adam Humphries and Tyrell Williams would all be good additions.

I also disagree with your assertion that the Jets need to trade for a WR or pass rusher. The Jets have nothing to trade and need every pick they can get.

So you want to trade away our 2020 1st round pick, leaving us with no pick until the 2nd round? I totally disagree with that. That is supposed to be a great draft for OL and for RBs. The Jets would be stupid to trade away their #1 or #2 pick in that draft.

The Jets don't need to draft Allen if they sign Clowney in FA. I love Allen, but imo he would be a luxury addition at that point. The Jets should then look to take either an LT or a WR in the 1st round.

Fair enough. Tyrell Williams would be good fit, I just looked him up. He had a 1,000 yard season two years ago and turns 27 i. A few months.

They should also explore the wr trade market as good wrs can be had for 4th and 5th rounders.

Also, I'm not saying they trade for a pass rusher, I'm stating that likely all of the ones we listed will get tagged or resigned. If that happens, the they might consider doing what the bears did and trade for one of them in the summer after the draft.

    I'm all for Jonah William's at 3.

Looking at this list. My question for eveyone is this. Do we sign Bell and 3-5 other potential starters or use the 100 million on 5-7 potential starters who can contribute? I'm 50-50.

Bell would solve many issues and really help Darnold in his development. The other part is we have so many holes that we need as many people as possible.

I guess the other aspect will be who the new coach is and what offense and defense he runs so we know who would be a good fit and not. Many questions to ask and a few will be answered in the next week or two with the coach.

Avery Williamson is under contract for another two years. Robby Anderson won’t need to be resigned unless another team is really stupid. And if another team is really stupid then we’d be even stupider to match. Darryl Roberts is horrendous although I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he was playing FS down the stretch. Sterling is scrambled eggs, he might call it quits.

The only guys that will command over a million are Roberts, Henry Anderson and Jason Myers. I think Claiborne is going to be someone we look to retain but he’s going to cost a little more. Either way, I’m not worried about our own crop of FAs at all. Most are cheap or easily replaceable.

I have to be missing something. Why have two people now said we have to resign Avery Williamson?

    1. We don't need Sheldon Richardson, Henry Anderson and Leo will be fine going forward. Sheldon was pretty quiet over in Minnesota. Jets need an edge rusher.
    2. No to Jay Ajayi and Mark Ingram also, but would entertain RB Kareem Hunt.
    3. Absolutely no to Moncrief (can't stay healthy) and probably Tate too. This is a very talented WR draft class, I think it's pretty underrated. I think signing Tyrell Williams (cheaper) and drafting a WR would be a good idea.

That is most definitely wrong. He's under contract for the next two seasons.

    1. Agree 100%. Resign Anderson. See what we can do with Leo and others we bring in. No to Richardson. All the talent in the world but doesn't translate. Another wasted d pick of ours.
    2. No to Ajai. Yes to Ingram for the right price and knowing that Eli McGuire and another draft pick will get playing time. As for Hunt. At this point no. Let the NFL come out with his punishment etc and then revisit at that time. I think the Cleveland police are not charging him with anything but have not heard officially. If they have not he is unsignable. The process has to play out and he has to do the punishment before we could consider signing him.
    3. No to Moncrief and Tate too. Yes to Williams and a draft pick. Williams, Anderson, Enuwa, Burnet and a draft pick. Not great. Far from but a start.

You're correct regarding Williamson. I used the Spotrac list that was posted on page one of this thread, but should have verified it against Over-the-Cap's list. I will make that correction in my post. Anderson is a RFA, but believe that he will have to be tendered or signed to a contract. I disagree that we'd be stupid to match. We have enough holes without creating more. IMO not matching would be stupid unless the other team just gave him crazy money.

Darryl Roberts is not horrendous. He has played very well in stretches, and more than one poster has spoken about how he was our best CB at one point in the season. He is solid depth. Could we find someone better? Undoubtedly, but again, we only have 29 players under contract and will not have time to sign 17 FAs (29 + 7 draft picks = 36, and 53-36 = 17). It would be dumb to create more holes. In addition to Roberts, Mo Claiborne, Buster Skrine and Jeremy Clark are all FAs. We can't sign 4 new CBs.

Sterling may call it quits, but he's better than Tomlinson, and again, the number of outside FAs we will be able to sign is limited. Replacing every player who is less than desirable this offseason is not realistic. Some of them are going to have to be re-signed for a year and replaced next year.

5 WRs are not enough imo. We need at least 6 if not 7 imo. Golden Tate, while older than I would like, could still be big in helping Sam develop for the next couple of years.

I agree no to Ajayi, Hunt, and Moncrief. Moncrief hasn't done that much in the NFL. He's an underachiever.

I just cant see us getting Bell. At this point, I'd be shocked if he didnt end up with the Colts.

What don't you like about Ajayi? He carried Miami to the playoffs, was a key piece in the Eagles Super Bowl run.
Is young, isn't going to cost as much as the other big name backs because of his injury. Could be a very good mid tier pick up

He is young and has actually surprised me in the NFL in that he is still playing. He had a bone-on-bone condition in one or both of his knees coming out of college, has been banged up most of his career, and now is recovering from an ACL tear and surgery. It usually takes players over a year to get back to full health/strength following an ACL tear. The Jets need a healthy RB, not one recovering from an ACL, and who already has a bone-on-bone condition. He also hasn't played an entire season. In his rookie season (2015), he appeared in 9 games, starting none. In his second season (2016) he appeared in 15 games, starting 12. In 2017 he appeared in 14 games, but only started 8. This past season, he only appeared in 4 games, starting 3. He's a good RB and it's unfortunate that he cannot stay healthy, but he can't be depended upon to get through an entire season. We saw this past season what happens when RBs go down with injury.

The bone on bone situation was proven false, reports that surfaced claimed to be based on a medical recheck performed at the Indianapolis Scouting Combine. The problem with those reports is that Ajayi did not attend any medical rechecks at the combine.
He was available in 16 for every game but the Dolphins signed Foster and Gase immediately moved him to the top of the depth chart.
Ajayi did have several 200 plus yard games in 16, 2 we're back to back only 4 players in history have done so.
I believe his injury was pretty early in the season last year, the revory is 6-9 months so he should be ready to play by camp.
But I can definitely understand your injury concerns.
