You have got to be high on something to post this. Another year or another decade of Bowles will not change anything. Who would want to watch this for a ONE second after the season ends today? There is zero positives about Bowles the last 3 years. A person in a coma would do a better job. This post would have some validity if the Jets made it to 8-8 but they have been double-digit in losses for 3 straight years. It should have ended last year.
Actually I think you SHOULD list the litany of reasons we've mentioned here numerous times - but do so privately, and write that list 100 times as punishment for even posing the question in the first place, maybe then Bowles breadth of incompetence will sink in. Frankly he should've been fired 2 years ago, and every day since. And there's a thread here dedicated to possible coaching candidates, that in addition to those listed in the poll, there have been many mentioned in the body of discussion. If you don't see a whole lot of candidates, either you're being obtuse, or you need corrective lenses. I apologize for being over the top here, because I usually like to encourage people to express their ideas without censure, but if Bowles is allowed to remain beyond this season, this franchise is completely hopeless and deserves to fail.

I'm not going to blow up on this post like some of these guys.... I do agree that Bowles is somewhat getting screwed, as the only year he had talent we went 10-6. Roster was older, it fell apart, we went into a rebuild. He finally got his franchise QB, who he helped this franchise by playing him his rookie year even when we had experienced backups. McCown could have been decent if he started and got reps from day 1. We went into this season knowing we shouldn't be better than 7-9. It was all about progress. I've seen progress on the O, from Darnold, Anderson, Herndon, and the backup o-line who has filled in pretty damn well after injuries. The D has regressed big time, and that's the problem. Another year won't help solve his shortcomings, he's just not a good head coach. He won't develop Darnold like others can, and his specialty is supposed to be defense and it's been piss poor.
That's my point, he wasn't given a playoff mandate. He given a progress mandate which he failed to live up to with a rookie qb, a shit supporting cast, and plagued with injuries.
