I'll need to see the guaranteed money before I judge.

As much as I like Enunwa, I cant just ignore the fact that he seems fairly injury prone.

Hopefully the contract takes that into account.

  2. I agree but i think id go w Cobb or Tyrell Williams rather than Tate.

Cobb would be a really good fit w Darnold & what is already here.Williams is another downfield threat w some upside.

Tate & Cobb are similar.Cobb’s younger

Bad signing, Q is a nice player, but he's always injured, and he we need to upgrade Sam's weapons if we're going to be a more explosive offense.

He still threw the darts better than Hackenberg threw a football.

I like Williams, wouldn’t mind that at all. Cobb is a real possibility if we land McCarthy. I think Tate is more versatile than Cobb is.

So you're suggesting we sign 4 or 5 new really good brand new WRs?

Upgrading the position realistically means adding a good/really good piece or 2.

    Not 4 or 5.

Q is a nice piece, not the be all end all but I very nice piece that has some chemistry with Sam.

Don't understand why keeping Q is a bad move if we're trying to build a receiving corp.

That's a high number for a guy who missed all of 2017 and had the injury bug for 5 games in 2018. He really needs to stay healthy, play a full season or close to it, for this deal to pan out.

I understand we want to upgrade, but if you look there really isn't anything in free agency to write home about. Are Cobb/Tate/T.Williams all better and probably worth more than Quincy? Its debatable, but I'd rather take the home grown guy that has got chemistry with Sam. Kearse is likely gone and Robby is one screw up away from being suspended for a long time.

I think this offseason in free agency at least, it will be about upgrading the offensive line and pass rush. Two areas we've badly needed help. Outside of Lev Bell, I don't see a skill player on offense that will come here and change the entire dynamic of the offense. That doesn't mean we won't add some pieces though.

I can’t believe there are people who watched us slowly dismantle everything Sanchez had around him that now think bringing back Q to a team and player friendly deal in a year where we have over $100 mil in space is a bad move.

If he had stayed healthy all year it was a no questions type move, but he didn't. In 4 years he has only appeared in 16 games once and he has missed an entire season. I love his play, but health is a concern.

Guys--upgrading talent does not mean upgrading every single position on the roster.

    It's not realistic.

Free agents are not Jet fans--not every talented FA is going to sign with the Jets because they have $$.

A lot of teams have $$ and better situations for players/lifestyles.

We need to add some players but we can't simply discard every FA player on our team--even the decent ones because...you know...Jets.

I hate that people keep calling this a “$9 mil per year” signing. That’s the absolute most it could possibly be. Again, per Cimini, there is $20 mil guaranteed all in the first three years. That’s not $9 mil a year.

If McCarthy becomes our HC you can bet Cobb will be on the jets next year

Cobb is one bad hit away from retirement. I wouldn’t be shocked if he hangs em up honestly.

Almost all of those stats were from 2016, when he was actually healthy.
He didn't just flash, he broke out that year. Unfortunately there's been a lot of injuries since.

So as long as he can stay healthy, and the guarantees are reasonable, it's a very good deal.
I doubt he'll earn all 36M, as that is his best case scenario.

I'm having a hard time feigning outrage over this signing.
Having an even a harder time with poking holes in Enunwa's game as if he is not a talented and versatile weapon.
If healthy and used properly as the mismatch he is, he's exactly the type of player Darnold needs here.

I'm interested in hearing from the detractors, what--rather than Q--productive young healthy free agent WRs are out there that will cost less than Q's contract?
