Pro Football Weekly (@PFWeekly) Source tells @Eric_Edholm that the #Jets and WR Quincy Enunwa have agreed to a four-year extension worth up to $36 million. More details:www.profootballweekly.c…pic.twitter.com/T4SGykx… Great player on and off the field! Much deserved! Congrats Q!
Not sure how legit this is but Ben Allbright retweeted it. Good deal, reasonable value if true. Guy is a tank after the catch and would be a good piece for Sam long term. Would like to see him protect himself so he can stay healthy though. He can be a little to obsessed with breaking tackles and it’s leading to injuries.
9 mill a year ... I really need to see the guaranteed money on this one. I love Q as a player, but his health scares the living crap out of me. Not a fan of this up front with just the total numbers.
Good news as long as theres an injury clause or an out after a year or 2 if health issues persist. Now get Robbie inked too. Enunwa/Anderson/Herndon/Mcguire/Cannon Far from great but a decent starting point
It sounds like the player, not the team, is protected from injury in this contract The article says there are guarantees for injury worth over $20M
https://overthecap.com/position/wide-receiver/ Dropping this here for additional info for the coming conversation. This deal puts him in the Robert Woods range which seems reasonable ... if he can stay on the field.
Q is exactly the type of player a young QB needs as an outlet to move the chains. I like it. Hopefully the guarantees are light just in case he can't stay healthy.
Have to wonder if the Johnsons would let Mac sign a player to an extension if they weren’t planning on retaining him. Could be a sign that he’s staying.
Fantastic that he's coming back - when healthy he's a beast, but I think he needs to live to play another down. Sometimes he goes nuts on the field, which makes for highlight reel moments, but ends up getting banged up too often because of it.
Some guys need to be protected from themselves.Quincy is one of them. Hes gotta be one of the more physical players down the seam in the NFL
I like it, he just needs to stay healthy. Darnold needs to have weapons he's familiar with next season. This doesn't mean the team shouldn't look to acquire a #1 WR, which the roster doesn't have.
Agreed. Just look at what a former shell of his once great self Gronk is already. Its great being a physical monster, but it takes years off your career.
I like it. $9m seems fair, and knowing Macc there will be an out after the first 2 years, just in case. My guess is that most of the $20m guaranteed is in first 2 years.
Yeah his decline has been jaw dropping. Most drastic ive ever seen outside of perhaps Eddie George & Emmitt Smith
