In regard to Allen, his biggest knack was having 0 touch on the ball and severely lacking in throwing accuracy. The kid is currently at 51.7% completion percentage. LMFAO.
A kid that played at Wyoming, who didn't beat a single power 5 team, let alone look remotely impressive, who is wildly inaccurate and always has been, was made the highest selected QB in Bills franchise history. LMFAO.
I just remember on draft day, and I don’t remember who I was watching, but Buffalo traded up for Josh Allen and one of the only positive thing someone on the broadcast could muster up was “with those big hands he will have no problem playing in Buffalo in the cold“. That says a lot.
When Sam scrabbles and buys time, he looks to be more decisive, at least has somewhat of a plan. Josh Allen, its a habit and usually nothing good comes out of it. He did it a lot in college too, and it was just a reckless chuck down the field. I don't see that with Sam.
Loved that play where Sam pointed at - I think it was Herndon (? - I'll have to watch it again) - and said over there! He didn't like what he saw and tried to make something out of nothing without putting the ball in jeopardy. Pass wasn't caught, but I love some of the little things that I'm seeing from him. Makes me so happy (rubs feet together in warm fuzzy Jets socks). The real litmus test will be year 2 (I know, duh). Other teams will be studying a lot of tape in the off-season to get his number, but like I said in the game thread, I was waiting for Sam to go rogue. It's obvious he's taken matters into his own hands more than once. Not me likey. Me lovey. Whether or not Maccagnan is still here come draft time, I'm gonna be really pissed if the Jets manage to screw it up . . . because ya know, Jets gonna Jet. It wouldn't matter if they dug up Vince Lombardi's corpse, let's put it that way.
I can't tell you how long it's been since I don't have a feeling of dread, my heart in my throat, and a bottomless pit of anxiety in my stomach whenever (insert any random Jets QB here) drops back to pass. Because I can't. Well, probably since before Chad Pennington first got a busted wing. I pretty much got nervous with everyone, including Testaverde because he was either golden or a muttonhead. This is so foreign to me, but I could get used to it very, very fast. You know when neurotic people have neurotic dogs? The dogs feed off of the vibe and become nervous wrecks. Well, I'm feeding off of Sam's composure. Imagine that? It's the best shit season I ever sat through. I don't care if the Jets beat the Cheats handily or not (yeah, right, handily sure, jeto), but I want that game. I won't have any choice but to accept it as a moral victory if we see another great Sam performance and the Jets don't get killed, but I'll say it again: I want that game.
Darnold, you just know a big play is waiting to happen. The guy can make some amazing throws, and he's only scratched the surface. Hopefully, the Jets continue to build around him, whatever it takes. Do the complete opposite of the Sanchez days. Spend money on weapons while he's on his rookie deal. Win or lose, if Darnold can go into Foxboro and have a good game, thats a lot of momentum going into the next year. Full year of tape and we know Darnold has the ability to assess what he needs to improve on and he gets it done (used to be a fumbler; slower release). I am nervous on what happens from here.
It should be an interesting week starting on Monday. Have to figure Bowles is gone but IDK about Maccagnan. Definitely looking forward to 2019 as Darnold should be much better with a year of experience plus a better supporting cast. Whoever the GM is better focus on OL and getting playmakers at the skill positions. With a 100 million coming off the books plus the draft the Jets will have a great opportunity to really improve this team.
Not sure if Cooper, Hill or Thomas will be let go, but I wouldn't mind AJ Green at all, even though he's turning 31 soon.
Darnold = Sanchez 2.0. "What?" I tried to find that thread but I think it was deleted (?). Why? No-one was bashing and @Brook! said he was keeping it open. So much sadness.
Uncle Josh gave Darnold a lifetime supply of Hair gel ... dude hasn't looked this rough since he's been in NY.
Tyreek Hill but we do have to forgive his woman abuses also, I like Green but he just can't stay healthy and will be huge $
