Right now we pick 3rd since SF strength of schedule has been lower than ours and their record is as bad as ours. (So they suck even worse because they are losing to a weaker schedule) http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...der-cardinals-no-1-broncos-close-in-on-top-10 They play the Rams and we play the Pats. If we both lose, the Rams will be 13-3 and the Pats will be 11-5. Is this enough to prove we suck more than SF? If so, we move into the second slot. Calling Statjeff.
For the past 8 years this is the Highlight of the Season for us....figuring draft status...sad sad sad
This is the wrong tweet. That’s what we need to win a tiebreaker with Detroit if we beat the Pats and they lose. Here’s the tiebreaker with SF
Why exactly do we need to get the #1 overall pick? We already got our QB last year. With $100 million in cap space they'll fill a bunch of holes in free agency.
Nick Bosa and/or trade back to a team that really falls in love with a QB or other prospect - given the rookie pay deal there is a lot less of a problem with having the #1 overall pick when you don't need a new QB - still its a bit of shame that at this stage of the draft process there seem to be very few blue chip players (especially at the QB position) but a lot can change
Wherever we sit on draft day, IMO the jets need to trade down and get the kind of deal the Colts got from the jets last year if possible. The jets have so many needs thanks to years of incompetent drafting--And IMO Mike McCagnan is not the GM who can rebuild this team with draft picks, especially with his "never offensive line" draft philosophy.
One problem: The Jets are going to beat the overrated Patriots on Sunday. Merry Christmas, everyone!!!!!!!!!
Jets win Sunday? Probably for three quarters, but Todd Bowles never had a lead that he did not cough up. Merry Christmas fellow jet fans! We have been thru a lot and been there for each other. I really believe most of us on this board could do a better job drafting players, signing free agents, etc. than the incompetent management that we have witnessed for so many years. It is kind of like standing on the sidelines when the coach is playing his kid instead of you. You KNOW you could do better. Like the 2017 draft. I just laughed when MacCagnan picked DB back to back in 2017, followed by receiver back to back, then closed his 2017 draft with DB again back to back, with ZERO offensive lineman and defensive lineman selected in that draft, but, boy did we load up on DBs and receivers-I told my wife "And the jets are actually PAYING this guy to make these picks?"
The best pass rusher in the draft which the Jets have lacked now for about 12 years......not sure I would even trade down if that were the case. Imagine getting your QB one year then the best EDGE the next ??
I didn't understand what he was doing that year....he kept trading down and then trading down again.....
If we get #1 would like to trade for picks and grab Josh Allen. Would take josh allen and a xtra 2 and 3rd round pick over bosa.
Josh Allen is mocked as a top 5 pick so unless its moving back about 1 spot I don't see it happening, but it would be nice
While getting the number one pick will feel good (damn that tells how horrible this franchise is to say that) the good thing is nether SF or the Cards need a QB and could very well trade out from ahead of us to a team that does, leaving any of the top players we want still on the board for us. The number two pick is the equivalent of 1 for us unless we intend on trading out.
Yeah, I was thinking about that yesterday. Best case scenario for the Jets is 1 or 2 of these QB's have a big Spring and sky rocket to the top of draft boards. That happens pretty often, so hopefully it will this year too and QB-needy teams will desperately trade up.
