Give him credit - he couldn't have been more explicit that he thought that bad officiating cost them the game.
I was watching NFL Network yesterday and the conversation they were having is that there is actually talk around the NFL that there might be teams interested in having Bowles as a head coach next year. Amazing.
Its amazing. I know the NFL is pushing for more minority hires but anyone would be absolutely crazy to consider Bowles after they have seen dumpster fire he is here. The guy has no business being in football on any level. He needs to find a new line of work completely.
It's pretty simple: 1. There are other NFL owners as clueless as Woody and Chris; 2. The NFL is an old-boys' network, and Bowles is an NFL lifer. Owners and GMs seem more comfortable hiring members in good standing of the old-boys' network even if they've failed badly elsewhere; and 3. Bowles is a safe hire in the sense that when things go wrong, he won't publicly blame the owner or GM.
I'll give Bowles credit for going off on the Refs today. It was long overdue and if he'd showed this kinda fire before now, he might be coaching the Jets in 2019.. Too little, too late.
From 1997 (Parcells first year) to Rex's third season the Jets weren't bad. Over those 15 years the Jets were 128 - 112. The Golden Age of Jets Football - for those 60 years old or under .
Exactly reaction as well. I would have liked to have seen the fire during the game. Maybe it would have affected the refs next call. Probably not, but IMHO you do whatever you can to try and garner whatever advantage you can.
