Not to be picky, but the title of this thread IMHO has been totally overcome by events. If there is one thing I have taken with me to the 2019 season is this. Darnold does not remotely = Sanchez 2. Maybe more like Darnold =Sanchez* 2000% better. The kid has what it takes, projecting a bright future and has done far more with a lot less including a consistently brain dead CS and error prone supporting cast. Lets hope we don't screw him up like we did with Sanchez.
The problem is Sanchez is such a low bar that there's at least one level between Sanchez and franchise QB.
Next year we will hopefully know. He did look good this week. Got to tell you, Goff did not impress me much over the past 3 weeks. The FQB circle is a small one. Good bye Winston, Flacco, Borttles, and arrow pointing down on a few others. Even Cousins is steady but not quite the elite many were expecting. Mahomes appears to be the future standard for QBs.
I love Mahomes and think he's elite, but pump the brakes even on him. DCs will have more tape on him next year, and the Chiefs won't have an All Star team around him forever.
I'm not saying you're wrong but if we can't be optimistic about Mahomes future how in the hell could we even begin to think positively about Darnold??
LAJet said Mahomes is the future standard for QBs, which I think is too soon. But I have no problem saying Mahomes is a franchise QB.
Lol when I watched that play live I thought "How the heck is Anderson so open, our receivers don't do that."
h Nobody is talking here about Garappolo. Too bad that he has been out for the season. How does he compare to Mahomes?
Watching the game today..... Is there enough evidence to close this thread now? He's looked pretty freaking good again..... Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
