I can see him being able to trade down to get multiple picks, I just don't trust him to make the right choices with those picks.

And with good reason. He just constantly botches those picks. It's like he has no feel for the best college talent and how to pinpoint it unless it's smacking him in the face (Darnold, Adams). That's why I want him gone. It's setting this franchise back big time. Those are the types of picks and impact players that result in several more wins a year, no question. Same as those screaming for Bowles' head with his poor in game coaching.

The Jets are currently #3 overall, with the potential to still get the #1 pick, but what is the worst they could do? If they beat the Packers and Patriots and finish (6-10) how bad of a pick can they get? I see a lot of 5 and 6 win teams.

I'm no draft expert, but from mocks I read, there doesn't seem to be much talent drop off from 3-4, and 10-11. Thoughts tdk?

Falcons have SOS over us but the w puts them behind us. Tie would have done the same thing

Rams definitely won't be resting players, they fell behind the saints so will be playing hard. KC could be though. The Steelers win today gives then a cushion.

Obviously not if the Chargers win next week.

Included the 5-9 teams in case we do the inevitable and beat the Pack:

    Bucs over Dallas
Bills over Pats (and fuck Tom Brady)
    Giants over Colts
    Jax over Miami
    Lions over Vikes
    Atlanta over Carolina
    49ers over Bears (@SF)
    Cards over Rams (@AZ)
    Raiders over Denver (@Oak)

Only hope is 9ers, Cards and Raiders all at home. But we gotta watch those sneaky ass Jags.

Lawrence and Ansah are playing on tags this year.

0% chance either of them are re-tagged.

Rams suddenly look vulnerable, but Cards are SO bad. Niners suddenly look good, but Bears are very good and highly motivated. Broncos aren’t good at all, but Raiders have completely quit. Maybe the last one, since it could be the last game ever in Oakland?

And remember, Miami over Jacksonville keeps the Pats not in the playoffs dream alive.

  11. Lots of players to watch but id agree there seems to be the cluster from 2-12 or so.That includes impact positions like DE/Edge,DL,CB,OT & even acouple WRs..and thats before the QBs come into play which they surely will.

D Line is deep, true 3/4 OLBs are shallow behind Bosa.
I have no faith in the Chargers, they seem to always find a way to screw up, but they did beat the Chiefs this week.
I also didn't take into account the Chiefs injuries. May not really have an opportunity to rest many players even if the chargers choke .

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a Bosa. But, protecting Darnold is just as big a priority as improving the pass rush, maybe bigger. Ideally, we sign a Lawrence, Clowney, or Clark in FA and one of the OT prospects distinguishes himself enough for us to take with a top 5 pick. Plus, I'm not sure if Bosa's even available when we pick anyway.

He won't be. As of now he will probably be the #1 pick but definitely off the board by #2. Looking at the league schedule for the last two weeks the Jets most likely will wind up with the #5 when all is said and done but possibly anywhere from #4 - #7. That being said they will get a good quality player wherever they land and it seems to line up with being able to grab one of those OTs. While I personally would rate EDGE as a slightly larger need for the team overall considering the OLB spot opposite Jenkins has been filled by journeymen and back ups all year I do believe they will sign a pass rusher in FA. There is a gaping hole at EDGE/pass rusher/OLB. I wouldn't consider LT a gaping hole as we have Beechum. As we know Beechum is just a stop gap at this point. That being said I see the Jets beginning that OL rebuild in round one with a guy like Jonah Williams. This is why it's crucial for Mac to get that pass rusher or even multiple pass rushers in FA.

I think they'll beat the Packers. I have a feeling they're gonna be up for the game - last home game and the players know this will be Bowles send off......he seems to be popular with the players. And GB is hurting and kind of dysfunctional at this point. Had the Jets played them earlier in the year GB would have mopped the floor with them....

All that being said I am assuming the Jets finish 5-11. You are right there are a lot of bad teams but no truly bad team out there. The team holding the # 1 pick could very well end up with 4 wins. When was the last time that happened ?

As I've stated in previous posts I predict the Jets end up with # 5 and can find a terrific player right there. Hopefully OT. I just don't feel this will be a draft in which you see a lot of trade ups in round one.

There's early rumors in Wisconsin that they might sit Rodgers since he's not really 100%, and they're eliminated finally.

If the Jets want Sam to excel, they need to find him some weapons. Enunwa is always hurt and nothing more than average and Anderson is their only potential above average receiver. This team needs to find a way to draft a good receiver this year and if they can find a way to get one by trading back mid first round, I’d try to find a way. Regardless of the need for pass rusher, this team needs to start winning with offense and we are doing Sam a disservice if we can’t get him another good receiver.

Of course they do but unfortunately there are only so many first round picks to go around.....I don't think this is a strong WR class from what I've read. They could find a gem in the mid rounds...but Sam is not going to excel running for his life or on his rear end. It wouldn't matter if he had Jerry Rice catching passes. The Jets need to do this the right way....they can fix this OL or at least the majority of it this offseason if they play their cards right. They do need a #1 WR but between FA and the draft I'm not sure if they find one this year. Unless Amari Cooper is a FA and the Cowboys don't tag him ? I don't think they would have traded a first round pick to acquire a pending FA though......

The Jets should resign Enunwa, tender Anderson, release Kearse, and sign another WR. Maybe not a #1 but at least another weapon for Sam. Fix other areas then 2020 look at a real #1 target for him......

Bingo! Miami will have the tie breaker for the division provided the Patriots lose out and they win out. Damn I can't believe I'll be rooting for the Bills and Miami in the same week, but it's for the greater good!

5-11 seems to be our favourite way to end the season so I am going with that
