When healthy, Penny is a damn good QB. I think he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

YPA and QB Rating are the two best QB stats. Teams with QBs that have a high YPA and good QB Rating are usually the most successful (atleast in terms of recent studies).

Bah. His receivers have made him look better than he really is most of the year.

Coming into the year, everyone wanted to bring in a receiver, but now the receivers are making Chad?

The Jets didn't know what they had in Cotchery and Coles was coming off a lost year.

^ To a certain extent sure. Coles and Cotchery have at least a dozen sick catches each which could have easily been drops, short gains or picks but they made absolutely sick plays on. Some of the balls to the less athletic guys (paging Ms. McCariens (j/k) ) have been picked. those stats are pretty worthless.

Coles was coming off a bad year because Chad and Fiedler went down in week 3 last year. WRs can't have a good year without a good QB, a QB can't have a good year without a good OL.

Coles and Cotchery, especially in the first New England game, made a couple incredible plays to pump up Chad's numbers, but there are also the passes he drops right in there that make the WRs look good. You know, the ones that scare the shit out of us but get where they need to go. It all evens out.

Aikman said last week on TV that he thinks the intermediate and short passes are actually the hardest passes a QB makes. Just like pitchers have trouble throwing the ball to first base, or baksetball players have trouble with the 8 foot jumper...

Thanks for the post Cakes. Guess its safe to say a combo between YPA and Qb rating usually predict how good a qb is, although with guys like Vick and Young in the nfl know, it certainly doesn't apply to everyone.

Look at the top ten guys on taht list, none of them were short bs throws. Chad does not need to be celebrated for this. He is a joke and will never take the jets anywhere. I said it in the beginning of the year, great guy but will not take you to the superbowl. He can barely move, cant throw over 10 yards. Time for a new qb. Everytime he loses, he blames himself and says he will fix it. You cant fix a crappy arm
