Reading twitter and forums I see that people are split. We could have gotten #1 pick today if we lost. We are now picking 5th according to tankhaton. That said. considering Darnold's play today, were you happy with the win today?
I was happy with his play but would have preferred the Bills go down and score the TD to win. I guess fat Trumaine Johnson doesn’t suck as bad as some here fantasize.
Yea, he checked some boxes today that had previously been questionable. -division win -road win -inclement weather win -come from behind win -game winning drive I think those are worth it, especially the last one. Don’t want to let him get accustomed to losing when trailing by one score late.
Said it before, I want Sam to ball out and us still lose every game close. Would have been no shame the Bills go down and win that game at the end. Number 1 would be HUGE draft capital. Not to mention every other round we have picks.
I want what is best for the team. Once they’re out of playoff contention, then it’s time to start thinking of next season. End of season wins don’t help with draft position. I’m glad Darnold got some meaningful reps in, and led a go ahead drive, but I was honestly hoping the defense would give up a game winning score.
Yes but my biggest problem isn't draft position, it's that every win increases the odds Mac and maybe even Bowles will return next year.
Not gonna lie, on draft night I will wish we finished with as few wins as possible. Having said that, I want Sam on the field in games like this performing as well as he can because the longterm benefits outweigh picking a bit lower in the draft. If McCown played today and we won, I would not be at all happy tonight...
Rollo, I am more concerned with the guy who will make the picks in the upcoming draft. Now that we are hearing about Macc staying I am less concerned about the draft order. Beyond round 1 he will suck as usual anyway.
What did you think of Trumaine Johnson today? He’s a cornerback on the Jets. Number 22. Had 2 interceptions.
I'm happy because I wanted to see Darnold come back and show he's got the goods to be the long term answer at QB for us. Now that that's out of the way, I don't want to win anymore games.
The #1 thing we can get out of the rest of this season is Darnold finishing up strong. Him leading a game winning drive and making some big time throws and plays in the process is of far more importance than the difference between 1-5 in draft order.
Maybe I will say I wouldn't have been upset if the Bills had come down the field and scored the TD to win, but I'm willing to believe that actually getting a W was important enough to Darnold to make it worth it.
