Big win over the Jackets tonight 3-2 at a packed and raucous Nassau. 10-2 vs the division.

Down 2-0 I was legitimately discouraged for the first time this season. Hopefully this served as a good sales pitch for Panarin.

Ho-Sang needs to be brought up. At this point he’s earned it in the AHL and his long term potential is more important than the short term gain he may get from the corp of forwards we have.

Ball is in your court Lou. Don't be a Garth and make some moves, call up Towes, Ho-Sang, or work the phones for a trade. Their is to much dead weight on this roster to be a consistent winner. Trotz is getting the most out of them but they need to upgrade the talent otherwise this season is toast. This Saturday at Detroit is a game the Isles can and must get a W. LGI

not looking good,,,,we should be down at least 3 -0 but they disallowed one of their goals. If they don't pick up the pace they will be losing this game. 2 periods left but so far NO GOOD

Lou needs to step up and make some moves. This was my biggest fear with this team, once the emotional wins stop, then it’s really based on skill and the team is showing heart but in the NHL you need skill players to make things happen not just hard work.

Isles have 2 pure goal scorers, Barzal and Anders Lee. Team needs to make some changes with personnel.

Nice comeback win tonight 3-2 after falling behind 2-0. Hopefully they can get on a roll and string a few wins together.

Clearly the story of the season. Reminds of the 1974-1975 team - a lot of hard workers, a few second line quality players (Parise, Bourne, Drouin, Resch), a couple of true stars (Potvin, Gillies), an excellent (actually great) coach (Arbour). They made the playoffs (for the first time), of course, defeated the hated Rangers in OT to win the first series, came back from being down 3-0 to beat the Penguins in the next series, and almost did the same to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Flyers in the next series. I camped out overnight outside the Coliseum to get playoff tickets that year, and it was worth the cold and discomfort and every penny. Very exciting season, and because of an excellent (actually great) GM (Torrey) they took the next big step the following year, drafting Trottier, and then in succeeding years getting Bossy, and then Tonelli, and finally Goring, and becoming one of the best teams in hockey history.

I'm okay if the next few years play out the same way ...

How scary is it that I remember watching Trottier skate over to Kate Smith and handing her those flowers as if it was yesterday = that was over 40 years ago ! The current team is easy to root for but they MUST give the effort each and every night . BTW it was painful as it always has been for me to watch Brock Nelson get into that scuffle and do EVERYTHING in his power to avoid ANY TYPE of altercation ! His teammates had to comet his defense its nauseating that as big of a guy that he is that Nelson is just SO SOFT = can we please trade this guy I hate seeing him on the ice in any capacity .

Barzal is now playing in a more defensive oriented system and asked to be a playmaking center as opposed to a goal scorer.

Last year when Isles had a legit top line center in Tavares the opposition had to pick their poison, focus on JT or Barzal, with JT gone they don’t have another center that commands the attention that Barzal does so they can focus on shutting him down.

Isles need another legitimate center to take attention off Barzal.

No, no, no - it was the Captain, Eddie Westfall, who skated over to her after the panicking Flyers brought her in to sing "God Bless America" in person. He was then followed by every member of the team going over and shaking her hand, much to the displeasure of the fans in the Spectrum. Trottier wasn't on that team (he was drafted a couple of months later). By the way, note the lack of names on the back of the uniforms.

Fights have always bored me, and I think that they are vastly overrated in any importance by the fans (and even by the players), but there is the very occasional exception. The Islanders had two such battles, both involving Clark Gillies: when he fought Dave Schultz several times in 1975, and when he fought Terry O'Reilly several times in the playoffs in 1980. Those were actually important, since both the Flyers and Bruins (two of the dirtiest teams ever) thought they could intimidate the Islanders, and they learned that they couldn't.

Ho-Sang on his way up. Hopefully this is the first phase in getting our prospects up.
