Don't know what site you got your #s from but your way off. He was QB coach for the Raiders in 02 not HC of u of San Diego.

    San Diego 2004-2006
    2004
    2005
    2006
    Overall 29-6

    Stanford 2007-2010
    2007 4-8
    2008 5-7
    2009 8-5
    2010 12-1
    Overall 29-21

    Michigan 2015-present
    2015 10-3
    2016 10-3
    2017 8-5
    2018 10-2
    Overall 38 - 13

As far as Revitalizing Alex Smith's career, Smith had a great year in 2011, was benched in favor of Kap in 2012 and traded to the Chiefs prior to 2013.
But he has been successful and would be an upgrade to what the Jets have had.

Todd Monken is by far the most underrated head coaching candidate. Dude is an offensive whiz with no running game and terrible qb.

I had never heard of him before, so I googled him. He seems to be very creative, but imo has too little experience calling plays at the NFL level. I watched the 9/27 press conference on YouTube, and he doesn't seem to have any more personality than Todd Bowles, although he does sound more intelligent/articulate. Is he disciplined? Does he have a fire that burns in his belly?

I like that he's getting Fitzpatrick to play at a high level, but they have a great OL and 3 topnotch WRs. I like his experience working both at the collegiate and NFL level, that he's had at least a little HC experience, and it's impressive that OK. St. brought him back after his stints with LSU and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He bears some watching, and sounds like he deserves an interview.

Thanks for bringing him to my attention.

I still would prefer Jim Harbaugh, but if we have to hire a novice HC, then Lafleur, Monken, DeFilippo, and the guy with the Saints who has a ton of experience are interesting and worthy candidates. Matt Campbell of Iowa St. also sounds interesting.

Not a HC, but would take as an OC.

I agree, I think Michigan losing hurt our/anyones chances of getting Harbaugh. He ain't gonna want to leave his alma mater with the legacy of having never beaten their biggest rivals.

He will stick around for another year or 2, unless someone throws crazy money at him and we know the Johnsons aren't gonna do that

So he stays and beats them next year. Is a 1-4 record against them really that much better than an 0-4 record? Is it worth turning down a shot to return to the NFL as a HC?

HE is no troll. He makes thoughtful, intelligent posts. He doesn't simply laugh like a jackass and contribute nothing thoughtful or of merit.

Shocked DeFilippo is getting so much love. I think that Vikings offense should be so much better than they are and I wonder if that is a direct indictment on DeFilippo. I'm starting to lean towards Toub and Carmichael

What about Zach Taylor as a possible OC candidate next season after serving the past 2 years as QB coach to Goff for the Rams?

I've never understood the love that many have for him. He just strikes me like he'd be an offensive version of Bowles.

  19. I dont want another scheme wiz to be honest.I want someone who gets players to execute. Thats been this team’s issue for far too long.

Forget x’s and O’s.Who is gonna get this team prepared to play mistake free, cohesive well executed football?

If you understand the rivalry, you would know that it is much better. Michigan football is a big part of Harbaugh life and getting that win against Ohio State would erase the 4 losses. He turned down the NFL to coach Michigan, and has had offers the past 3 years to return to the NFL.
Those offers will be there next season and the season after that. He's very well paid, at one of the most prestigious coaching jobs in College football, the Jets are not a step up.
He has a top recruiting class next season, was a game away from the CFP. The 10 win seasons are erased by the losses to OSU. That's not the legacy he wants.
