Heads up guys next weekend looks cold and interesting around these parts = Snow Friday / Saturday ? Lets see what the week brings
Next Saturday, opening day of regular deer season (rifle/shotgun) one daughter has a soccer game at 1230 in Dutchess county the other has a tournament in Rockland ,first game is 2pm. I can’t think of a more inconvenient time for snow. That said, let it snow
Please let it snow. I've got a yard covered in leaves, which are covering the mowing I haven't done in two weeks. If I rake the leaves then I'll have to mow the lawn. I'd much rather have 6 inches of snow make the entire issue moot.
Friday ???? hmmmm???? looks interesting still time,,,,Snow to Rain ? Just Snow ? looks like it might just be cold enough ,,,,still time
okay guys------Thursday into Friday-----dont say I did not tell you so because the models are starting to jump all over this . It might surprise quite a few people but we might have a shot at our first SNOW = Thursday / Friday. Good thing FJAY started up that blower,,time will tell but quite a few models are all over this right now
Pretty good agreement with the latest gfs and euro. Coast will se flakes but no accumulation 3-5 and more north and west. Then most of it will wash away. Snow to rain event.
Snownto rain event. City will see flakes. 3-5 north and west. I’d bet more like 3 more the further north you go. Should all be washed away by Friday night.
F Fjay I have been out most of the day and am catching up,,,curious to see what the late and overnight models say but this looks cold to me and Ice could be an issue for many ps trees still have some leaves
18z came in snowier, colder but I don't buy it. the 6 and 18 are always over done. i'm worried about ice too. probably give the generator a test pull tomorrow
Good idea,,I gave mine a crank a few weeks ago but will do again tomorrow. I think we gotta check the Euro out later and then the short Range models maniana . At least it fun to be tracking this stuff so early in the season
You guys talking about snow and our forecast down here says we are going to hit about 1 degree below a record high. Finally get our cool down after today though, low 40's Thursday and Friday night.
I assume the bulk of any big snow totals will be on grassy surfaces? Weather.com is talking 3-5" for parts of NNJ. Isn't ground temperature the big hurdle for these early season storms?
Last nights Euro STILLl said snow-------it is going to be cold enough but I think we have to see what todays short range models are saying. This appears to be just the beginning of winter as there is another small system monday that MIGHT need watching but theres a strong signal from models that the end of the month MIGHT have something bigger in store for us. First things first lets deal with Thursday-----------> Hey Batman you out there what are your thoughts ? Ps Fjay I am giving my generator and blower a crank today !!!!
Jacksonville broke a record high from 1889 yesterday. LOL I went surfing in just trunks yesterday probably the last time time for that in 2018....
@FJF - Keep us posted my good sir. Can't work from home any more so I gotta keep a close eye on these snows this year. What is the start time for this snow in Madison,NJ?
