Nope. Ultimately if he's not in the plans for 2019 and beyond, ZERO reason to keep him ROS. Zero. Relieving him of his duties now allows upper management to seek his replacement the rest of the season. Fucking pathetic that I woke up this morning at 7:30 and didn't have an alert that he was canned.
Anyone. Bowles has lost the team. Did you see how they played yesterday. The NY media will make it the worse 7 weeks of his life and the fans will be in an uproar. I don't see how he makes it through. As for HC for the rest of the year I'd say Dennison. No HC experience but has been a coach for awhile and can probably run the show for a few weeks.
The basic management of the players can be done by anyone. As for managing a football game, we don't have anyone that currently does that anyway. So what does it matter? Serious.
It doesn't matter at this point. They'll have an interim HC who will get an opportunity to show that he either has potential to stay on permanently, or needs to be replaced next year. If someone on the staff is good enough to replace Bowles, it'll make for an easier transition next year, so it might be worth a shot to look and see. It would also be good to see who all we have on the roster as well. A new coach may use some new people, or figure out new ways to use our current starters differently. I don't think Bowles has any inclination to do anything like that.
They should put off the inevitable and shit can Bowels right now and make Bates the interim HC = BUT these are the clueless Johnson brothers who want to keep continuity which means more of the same of this garbage . ps Mac is in the center of this mess and I would easily give this clown his walking papers also. Where is he right now ? probably walking around Florham Park with a paper bag over his head !
I give Bowles credit. He put together such an incompetent coaching staff, they're may not be anyone better to replace him. However, when a team quits on you, you have to be replaced by anyone.
Ian Rappaport just tweeted that the Jets are going to most likely wait to fire Bowles until after the season.......yikes There's going to be a fan mutiny
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. This is the only smart thing Bowles has done during his four-year tenure, but I suspect he did it out of incompetence, not for self-preservation.
I have friends legit defending Bowles to the sentiments of "Firing him doesn't get Sam a better o-line" .
This is terrible. I’ll be wearing a brown bag the rest of the season at MetLife. That’s for damn sure.
Truthfully I don't understand it. The players quit, it's obvious to everyone and their mothers. So now the question is what happens when we inevitably lose to the Patriots by 30 points are we gonna ride with this moron still? It doesn't make sense. This organization fails AGAIN, completely inept. I hope we lose every game by 30 points and Darnold survives with no injuries.
