Its not Sam doing the lying.. Sam may be nicked up a bit, but the CS can always put him in a boot and keep him there as long as they see fit. What would be the point of bringing him back against the Patriots after missing the Bills and a bye week. If TJ's injury can linger, so can Sam's foot. If Sam and the oline were getting their collective asses kicked in Miami, what do you think Brady and the Patriots are gonna do with Belichek designing the D?
If he's sitting this week which it looks like I bet they don't get Darnold back in till AFTER the Patriots game. If this is partly to help build his confidence back up they will be letting him sit that game as well.
There is no point in letting Sam play against the Patriots. None.. Let that happen in 2019 and let McCown play against Brady. Call it the GreyBeard Bowl.
You're making a big deal out of nothing. Baker Mayfield wouldn't stand for this shit. Or sit for it. Whatever...you know what I mean.
Questioning Sam's character is just stupid. Calling it a pattern is even...stupider. Btw, Baker was late for a practice in training camp. Did that show questionable character? After his arrest 2 years ago? That's quite a pattern. Am I doing this right?
Why would the Jets be fucked if Webb plays and is good? It might mess up our draft ranking, but how would it fuck up the franchise?
I can't believe that Sam would tolerate that and not go to the media or to Chris Johnson and tell the truth.
The Jets The damn Jets ......... my nightmare is- McCown (whom I like) is going to get us to 6 wins including a huge emotional win over the Pats in one of the 2 games. The franchise will see this as proof the Todd was dealt a shit hand and keep him. Plus Our draft place drops I wake up in a cold sweat and pray this doesn’t happen (except for beating the Cheats)
Unless by some miracle Webb is the next Kirk Cousins, a QB controversy with another young QB is a good way to ruin Darnold.
I don't think Webb playing well for a couple of games would cause a QB controversy. Sam is their QB. Webb would just earn the backup spot or be trade bait.
Undoubtedly, there'd probably be some fans that would clamor for Webb, but I don't think the team would after trading 4 picks to take Sam, and I don't think the media would, either.
Sure you can.. Sam is a rookie who doesn't really know the NFL ropes yet. He may have been anointed savior but he's not one yet. He doesn't really have the juice yet to buck his HC or the team. He'll be a good soldier, do what he's told and follow the party line.
