This is actually good news.... That it isn't a shoulder injury or something related to his throwing arm. I've expected this. It's what I've feared the moment we dealt Teddy and fully committed to Sam prior to having a full team around him. Since Sam and Josh are so tight there is zero worry about hurt feelings by having McCown play. In fact, it really might be a benefit since they can play reverse roles. Josh: " I did this because..." or Sam: "You didn't see it but you had x open downfield" I think Sam can learn a ton this way, especially since their relationship is already established, is non-threatening, and is solid as a rock. I see ZERO benefit of playing the Giant's guy.
Wanna know what is even more infuriating? The Jets ran the same DAMN play later in the game and got the same result, a nice Cameron Wake sack.
Awesome. McClown will beat Buffalo and win a couple games. Bowles saves his job and we get to have another 2018, in 2019
So there it is. Shit OL and I ain't no football guru, but I was so fckn against starting Sam. Thanks, Jets. Not the the end of the world, but F this stupidity. It could be so much worse, but the FO is a joke. Idiots. I'm spitting battery acid right now, that's how mad I am. Injuries happen when people barely get touched sometimes, but who in their right mind didn't see this coming? Sam Darnold, your prized possession, OK. It's like putting a Faberge egg on the highway and expecting it not to get run over and destroyed. And get the F away from me with those green pants. It only makes me angrier. Just fire everyone, including the ball boy. This idiot of all idiots FO is going to cripple him. Just bench him for the rest of the year so I don't flip out completely. Bridgewater or McCown should've been the punching bag. Thanks. EDIT & P.S.: @KurtTheJetsFan hacked my account, haha. I'm just mad. Leave me to my mood.
The sprain didn’t affect him not reading a defense and throwing it right to a LB though but could of definitely affected the pick 6 since he just lobbed that one up with nothing on it. Now watch Mccown beat this shitty Bills team ....
Well there goes my reason to watch this week mid rather rake leaves than watch Bowles pad his shitty record with jm. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
This. And I'm not down with it. I'll go do other shit until this freak show is over Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Just typical with this nut sack of a coach. He sure doesn't know a lot for someone in charge of a professional football team.
Bowles is just embarassing at this point. Finding it hard to find a reason to root for them this week. Beating a garbage team at home w a 40 y.o back up qb to hurt draft position & allow this moron to keep coaching? Idk if i can do it
I'd like to see Webb start on Sunday but I guess that we'll want to recoup some of the $10mn we are paying Josh to be a part-time QB coach. We aren't going to learn anything by starting McCown.
Exactly my reaction. The pressure is now off, and McCown is the perfect guy to come in to keep it off, since there is absolutely positively zero chance that he is the starting QB next season. Of course it makes the game even more unwatchable, but no one should care about that. This assumes, of course, that it is not a serious injury, just enough to keep him out. If Bowles didn't know about this on Monday that is shocking. If he lied about it it's pathetic. Either way, just another piece of evidence that he is hopelessly over his head in his current job.
I'm rooting for the Bills this week in the hopes a loss will put an end to Bowles and Bates. Dennison isn't a good OC but at least he'll keep Darnold safe.
Here we go again with the "I hope we lose" talk. I hope we NEVER lose. Remember: Each game could be the last one any of us watch. See? I cheered you up.
Oh, one more thing my Gang Green friends: Don't forget that most of the decisions made by this organization are made to generate enough interest to boost sales, and nothing more. It's Woody's way, and has not changed under this puppet regime while he's relishing Trump's reward for his fund raising. I have no doubt that rolling all-in with our prized QB draft pick was a decision made with the hope of selling some extra August tickets. Yes, my friends, I remember Favre and the stadium PSL marketing push.
Honestly, if Peterman is QB, it will be hard to lose this game, even if Webb starts. I'm hearing Josh Allen might play, which is annoying because I was looking forward to Darnold vs Allen.
Mine too. this "foot sprain" is pretty convenient. Couldn't have timed this one better with a clock. Takes Sam off the field perhaps for the rest of the season as I don't see them rushing him back behind this oline. He might as well sit next to Bates and absorb as much as he can while not in the line of fire. In the meantime, McCown might just have enough left in the tank for Bowles to escape another 5-11 although 6-10 ain't much better. Downside is if McCown actually does come in and plays well, our top 10DP goes bye bye and Macc will be drafting just after all the elite talents on offense are probably gone.
Boot = "He's hurt. He's out. Don't even ask questions." Whoever made this PR move is the smartest dude in the organization.
