I wonder why the Browns. Is it because of Dorsey? Mayfield? Because the Browns have some great young talent on both sides of the ball and he would have a chance to mold them? Did he say the Browns because they're the only team without a regular HC at the moment?
A lot of people talking about Matt Campbell and Iowa State Football. Looking at Baldys Breakdowns, his play designs look really good on O. I'm jumping on that Bandwagon.
i greatly prefer a proven NFL HC over someone who has never been an NFL HC. Having to wait until the new guy gets up to speed is just more waiting. Of course there are some guys like McVay who are the exception, but there's no guarantee that happens. Give me either Harbaugh over a new guy, but if it has to be a first timer, then they have to have experience running a successful NFL offense. I think hiring a college coach, no matter how good his resume looks, is a luxury they can't afford.
I would take a college coach, as long as he has a veteran coaching staff around him to ease in the transition. Meaning he hires a game management coach, a veteran DC and veteran OC.
I love Harbaugh but Shaw is who I want. Throw him a 5 year 50 million dollar deal His family, kids, grandkids and great grandkids are set for life.how can he say no? This is not cap money, so fuck it. Spend it
I'm curious, why Shaw over Harbaugh? Harbaugh has NFL experience as a winning HC. Shaw doesn't have that. Even though Shaw served as QB coach with the Raiders and Ravens and WRs coach with the Ravens, has he really helped develop a QB? What great QB has come out of Stanford or what offensive creativity has Stanford displayed during his tenure as HC? Is it because you perceive Harbaugh as an asshole?
I would think that Lincoln Riley would be more interested in Cleveland than the Jets. He would be a good hire though
Riley to the Browns is too ideal. It's a shame Arians wouldn't dare come here given his connection to Bowles. He even retracted his statements a bit from last week - https://brownswire.usatoday.com/201...iterates-his-interest-in-browns-coaching-job/ Give me Harbaugh, DeFilippo or the Chiefs OC. SOMEONE WHO HAS A NACK FOR SCORING POINTS.
Randy Fichtner should be somebody we are considering! This guy did an amazing job with Ben the last 8 years and has done an excellent job calling plays this year.
I don't think he is leaving Oklahoma. He has great job security and should be able to compete for the playoffs every year.
This was in response to a question "Bowles done Ben? Please say so" Hopefully we'll be getting some news on this soon
@Brook! could we merge this thread into a more general hc candidate one to get a general sense of all the future "candidates"?
