Adams insisting that it's not Bowles' fault, and then lists all the ways the entire team keeps making the same mistakes over and over. I wonder what he thinks a coach's job is. Bart Scott then immediately calls him a liar for saying it wasn't Bowles' fault.
If you don’t agree with him that’s fine but enough with being a PC warrior. It’s a racist rule to begin with and I feel that rule is the reason why a Hugh Jackson kept his job longer than anyone else would of and why Bowles is still here but at some point, enough is enough. Bowles is on borrowed time and nothing other than results will save him at years end.
He's starting to lose the one part of the Tri-State sports world no coach or GM can afford to lose. That would be the media. First its the fans going off on Blowes and now SNY who is notorious for a speak-no-evil to the guys that cut the checks.
Whoa. Hold on a second. The Rooney Rule requires teams to interview minority candidates. It doesn't require them to hire a minority candidate. If a team hires the wrong guy, the team, not the Rooney Rule, is to blame. Please, in the name of Jeff Fisher, don't blame the Rooney Rule for teams hiring boobs.
What the hell are you talking about? The Rooney Rule has no bearing on how long coach is employed. It simply states that you have to interview ONE minority candidate for head coach and head of football operations. That's it. Just an interview. Don't have to hire them unless they thought he was right for the job. So really, blame it on the former GM or the owner, whoever hired this idiot.
The rule is assisting in keeping bad coaches like Bowles and Jackson in the league longer since it’ll hurt their image if these guys get canned too quick.
I knew that this game would bring the racism out of some people. Look, Bowles is a lousy coach. I can't argue that. But judge him as a coach, period. Not black coach, not a white coach. Just a guy coaching a team.
I totally understand your skepticism. Joe's rants are priceless when one of his teams is playing terribly.
The Jets have a long history of hiring incompetent and ineffective head coaches. Mangini and Rex ended up in Cleveland and Buffalo respectively for a couple of seasons after their incredibly illustrious tenure with the Jets. With regards to Herm, he ended up without a coaching job and the league was spared. Can't see anyone hiring Bowles after this debacle, unless it is another Cleveland or Buffalo, since those two organizations are just as braindead as the Jets.
Nobody bats an eye when minority coaches get fired. Bowles is still employed not because of his race but because Chris Johnson doesn’t understand stability for the sake of stability won’t lead to success if the coach is terrible.
Robby and Adams pretty much called out the coaching staff. A fresh start in terms of the gm and HC might be needed to save Darnold. I remember seeing an article about Tate tweeting about Bates sucking while in Seattle. Have to wonder if Kearse remembers this.
