this was a rough game to watch so many of the studs are going to be a stretch but Studs Maye - played through injury and led the team with 7 tackles all solo Herndon - had a TD catch for the 4th straight game burnett - caught all 4 of his targets and led the team in yards and receptions luvu/copeland - 1 sack each both are doing well as situational pass rushers though copeland is basically the starting OLB now Pass Defense - besides he 70 yarder to RB cohen, the jets pass D was great all game long, which wasn't easy with all the 3 and outs on offense Duds RBs - 19 carries 35 yards Run blocking - 19 carries 35 yards Offense as a whole - just couldn't move the ball but being down your top 3 Wrs just sucks and was expected Kearse - was supposed to step up but looks like he isn't on the same page as darnold. thrown to 10 times and had only 3 catches for 30 yards Bates - failed to design anything to move the offense all game long
Whoever was blocking number 96 of the Bears. The Right tackle/right guard. They were abused all game. I also think Leonard Williams deserves to be listed as a dud. He didn't do anything all day except jump offsides twice.
Either the Bears secondary consisted entirely of All-Pros, or our WRs stink cuz Darnold rarely had an open option to throw the ball.
The OL (in particular the interior middle 3) is pure garbage. The lack of WRs the Jets put on the field yesterday is still no excuse for a non-existent running game let alone Bates not getting the TEs more involved. His play calling flat out sucked. Paying for whiffing on Devin Smith, ArDarius Stewart, Chad Hansen, Shaq Evans and Jalen Saunders... other 'duds' : the green pants studs: the kicker from Marist .
' GREAT STUDS N' DUDS, SolidGoldBowles, but I would include the OL as a stud for your pass protection. Chicago's pass rush didn't really harass Darnold at all all game long. only 1 total sack.
Glad you included Kearse and Bates as duds. Kearse is just bad with his 10 targets for 3 catches, what's up with this guy? Bates should be listed multiple times as a dud, this guy sucks. Almost every pass is thrown toward the sideline as a curl or out route. There is no creativity on the offensive side of the ball, I understand we're missing weapons but that doesn't mean we can't COACH our guys into space. Where are the quick hitting slants? Where are the shallow crosses over the middle? Where are the rub routes? Nothing this offense does is complimentary to each other. That touchdown to Herndon was the only route combination that was complimentary all game. I'm not sure who the receiver was but they ran an in route and Herndon ran the out, the result was a nice 16 yard TD to Herndon. I'm also waiting to see some first and ten playaction, maybe a bootleg pass to a tight end in the flat for a 4-6 yard gain on first down to get ahead of the sticks. There is a reason why Pete Carroll fired this idiot after one year (They had one of the worst offenses in the NFL)
it's funny cause watching other games it's pretty common to see a playcall so good that a WR gets wide open due to route combinations but for us it seems we just "line up and try to win" often leading to tough catches with little room for YAC which really sucks when you are down your top 2 WRs and the people we have can't win matchups against really good CBs cause they should be matched with other teams 4-5th CBs not their starters. we need to be more creative on offense if we want any chance to win without robbie and Q on the field
Bates, the biggest dud. Some weeks, every pass play is a screen pass. This week, no screens. The one week where he probably should have called more screens than normal. Especially when they setup for other plays -- think the TD against the Colts. Bates, man, letting us and Darnold down.
