I take it you either don't want to fire Bowles, or you're confident we'll sniff the playoffs next year under Mac and a new coach?

I believe Bowles is a bad HC. I've been on the fence when it comes to Macc because he has made good trades, hasn't issued cap crippling contracts, and has hit on his 1st round picks. That said, I'm not opposed to getting rid of both. Macc's drafting after round 1 hasn't been great. Maye, Shell, Herndon, maybe Shepherd are his rounds 2-5 hits so far. They give me hope. As for Bowles, I see no sign of improvement this year.

If you don't ask, ya don't get.

I've been around long enough to know that the Johnsons aren't likely to fire Bowles after just giving him an extension, but that doesn't mean it isn't the right thing to do. After all, if you realize that you made a wrong turn you don't keep plowing ahead figuring that eventually you'll wind up in the right direction.

The problem is unless you're confident in Mac, if Bowles goes Mac needs to go too. Otherwise you're either stuck with Mac until you fire the new coach, or you end up playing the keep the GM and fire the coach/keep the coach and fire the GM game.

I’m sure they’ll both be back..MAC for sure!

Idk who comes in though? Trying to find the next hotshot first time guy hasn’t done it for us..

If Darnold and The idea of winning in NY are as great as they say it is, we should be able to coax a guy to leave his gig and come here..like for instance either harbaugh

    Yes.

Think the defense just needs an Edge rusher and a couple late pick corners. Majority of draft capital has to be spent on OL + WR + RB.

Bowles isn’t going to be back next year ......the Johnsons are going to go with an offensive minded coach and get some weapons for Darnold . I think the Browns game was the first nudge in that direction. This lastest yawn inducer has made his seat a lot hotter .....and the NY media seems to be turning against him as well. That’s usually a telling sign ....

What we do not need to replace: Sam Darnold, Two safeties. Chris Herndon [maybe]
What we need to replace: EVERYTHING ELSE

One year away? Yeah. From firing Bowles and Mac. Absolutely.

We are one year away from being 3 years away from being 2 years away from not sure....

I used to kind of chuckle at those old Red Sox fans, old Cubs fans, and old Jet fans.

But after 30 fucking years. It’s time to laugh at myself....

It’s very likely I will be DEAD before these mother fucking pieces of shit win a Super Bowl

    But hey- that’s my fault

    They don’t pay my bills

Perhaps we’re one year away from the usual trend of spending all of the cap money on over priced vets in an effort to save the GM/Coach from the unemployment line. We may have a good but not great year, followed by another.

Then, it’ll start all over again with a new GM/Coach. We can only hope that our owner can learn from his mistakes and implement changes that might finally open a real window of opportunity for this team.

Yeah, I think that we may be "one year away" until we replace both of these guys. To say I'm unimpressed with the results so far is an understatement. It's not just that the losses keep piling up, it's that we so often look totally uncompetitive and just don't seem to be making progress.
