Going into this season most of us knew we were going to be sacrificing the season to develop our rookie QB. What has changed ?

    NOTHING !

I agree that we have more talent on defense than offense, but that's no surprise since aside from Sanchez and Darnold not many high draft picks have been used on offensive players over the last 10-15 years. That said, it's not topflight talent, but we do have some talent on offense in Darnold, Powell, Crowell, Kearse, Enunwa, Anderson, and Herndon. If the OL was fixed, those players would look a lot better. With better coaching and play calling, they'd look better still.

I feel the Jets have the most important piece - Darnold. They need to supply him with protection and weapons . For the offense the Jets need to come out of this off season with a LT, a LG, maybe a C, an every down RB, and add a WR. They need to figure out who is going and staying out of Anderson, Q, Crowell, Powell and Kearse. They also will need a back up QB. That’s a lot of work for one side of the ball...

To be honest, we should be sellers on Tuesday. Move a guy like Crowell or Kearse for whatever picks you can land. Zero point in retaining them when they shouldn't even be apart of the long-term for Darnold. You HAVE to build around the kid.

Drafting a WR early will be key, same goes for offensive line. I rather them not spend a ton of $ on him, but fuck it - if Bell is willing to sign here and has fresh legs, DO IT.

We can't trade Crowell or Kearse, they're all we have left on offense. Trading a defensive player is one thing, but if we're going to play Darnold we at least have to give him a chance.

The money shouldn’t be an issue . The Jets will have plenty of it and Mac has shown creativity in regards to contracts - I just don’t want to see them dish out anything longer than 3 years guaranteed . Would Bell go for that ? It doesn’t sound like it ...

The jets 2018 season was over at the end of last season when the lucky sperm brothers gave Todd Toilet and Mike McIdiot 2 year extensions. Bowles is not even smart enough to accept a penalty to move a team back.

If the guaranteed $ is high he probably won't care.

I agree with everything but Bell. Actually, Kearse will be a FA, so unless another team negotiated a long-term contract with him or was just going to rent him for the rest of the season, I doubt that anyone would trade for him.

Also, HomeoftheJets has a point. With Powell on IR and Enunwa injured, Kearse and Crowell are all we have left. Would we be helping Sam develop if we traded now the only dependable offensive players we have left? It would be one thing to trade Crowell during the offseason for a future draft pick, but it's quite another to trade him now.

I totally get that viewpoint of taking away from Sam and how it can be damaging. My sentiment was, if they aren't going to be here for his immediate future, why not gain picks to take players that WILL be?

So how's that development going? 1st down: run for no gain, 2nd down: throw for a short gain or incomplete, 3rd and long: let's throw an interception. If anything, a season like this one might only get his confidence shot, as they keep putting him in situations where he cannot make plays. If they were going to sacrifice this season, they would be better off keeping Darnold on the bench, learning pro game from there. Then, when they have better players around him and he knows WTF is going on around him, put him in. Bowles should have been gone a long time ago. Too bad the Johnson brothers seem to be too stubborn or stupid to let him go.

I'm no mathematician...but I don't see much development going on.

Darnold is developing, trust me. Not going to see it with th stats. Thought he played well today considering the talent around him.

He threw a touchdown and no picks even though the Bears corners were better receivers than the Jets receivers.

I just expectated more I guess.

    More rollouts.
    More designed qb runs.
    More improvisation.
    More shots downfield.
    More completions.

    More fun.

These Jets not only suck, they are boring.

It needs to be blown up. Nobody wants to watch another season of this unwatchable team. They do nothing well. Its like they are being coached to play football for the first time.
