That list,in October, is pretty much useless. Players will be tagged, others extended before they get to the market.
Boy...what a shit show. I've been trying to keep my little darkside persona locked away, but it's getting more & more difficult. I have no faith in this team. Fuck it. I'm going full dark.
He will. The Johnsons aren't interested in winning. The dollars are still coming in, so he'll be back. They'll say something about how the team is improving and how they "play hard" for their coach to justify this nonsense continuing for another 1-2 seasons.
This thread shows me the little faith I actually have in some of the posters here. Injuries happen. This season was all about the growth and development of Sam Darnold, and this defense taking the necessary steps to be a better unit. They've shown glimpses, I've liked what I've seen from certain players. It's just unfortunate the talent on the offensive side of the ball is either hurt or not ready to be big time players. It takes time. Peace out.
Todd Bowles. When I thought he was on the verge of doing something - he cooks up a masterpiece of this calibre. Blown coverages, False starts, stupid penalties and handcuffing his young prodigy. What is not to like? Man, I am so fed up with this idiot. I was willing to go out on a limb to defend him even until last week. No more. Fuck him. And fuck his stupid GM while at it too.
That was not the place to expect a lot of that not happen. Bottom roster young guys on the road is not a good scenario for any team. But, if that continues in the next two games as they get guys back that's a little different. I expect them to fight to the death the next two games and the season hinges on the MIA game. Will they get enough guys back for MIA is my question.
I have hit the usual sense of resignation and despondency quicker than usual this year - well done Jets. QB is a turnover machine, OL is terrible, no running game, no WR to speak of and defense is forever less than the sum of its parts, coupled with terrible play-calling and no ability to adjust during the game and I would imagine after this the players pretty much mailing it in for the rest of the year - so much to look forward to over the rest of 2018/2019
The Jets have no quality receivers, little pass rush and a rookie QB. Anyone who thought this season was anything but a dress rehearsal for next season and beyond really lacks perspective not to mention football knowledge. Offensive line help, a pass rusher, quality wideouts will be the focus in the off-season. They are on the right track and the future is bright. Worrying about the coaches is silly at this point.
It is true that players win games. Coaches, however, are supposed to put the players in the best position to succeed. They should also learn from their past mistakes. Bowles punted down 2 scores late in the 4th quarter. He did something similar that in Pitt 2 years ago.
Jim Harbaugh has them contending for a playoff spot in year 1 ready to take over the AFC East in year 2 sooner if Brady hits the wall before then. He turned around the 49ers overnight much of what's being said about the team now was being said about the 49ers then. He's the modern day Parcells.
The coaches are the problem. They couldn't coach up the team for an organized circle jerk. Give Mikey 1 more year or ditch both of them Taps
Please! Who cares? They were not winning today. The Jets were outmmaned. They tried hard but without and deep speed to worry the defense they stacked the line of scrimmage. There is a reason why the receivers they had are backups or practice players. Using one of them may help but a whole bunch of then at once is not going to work. Is it too hard to admit they lack talent?
Again, this season was never about winning anything. If Macc has a single working brain cell dedicated to being an successful GM, he should have been taking notes as to what this team's real needs are and formulate a plan to make it happen. After 4 years of his stewardship, the Jets are still deficient on all units. We need WR's, OL's, OLB's C's, CB's, RB's, you name it. Perhaps 10 guys out of the 53 should be safe and the rest jettisoned. If this is the result of Macc's plan A, how in the hell are we supposed to feel good about plan B? Where would this team be if we hadn't lucked into Darnold? McCown or Bridgewater at Qb. Macc's record after the first round has been sketchy to say the least. In FA, no jackpots yet. Does anyone here think we got a good ROI on our $72mil investment this year? Please raise your hand if you do.. 2019 depends on Macc getting real talent in here both thru FA and the draft. We have so many holes to fill that we're most likely looking at 202o. 2019 will be yet another rebuilding year. My sig stands.. 50 years and counting. Most likely you can say 51 if not 52 years unless Macc either gets his head out of his ass and gets lucky in the draft or is replace by someone more knowledgeable.
