This team sucks in large part - the largest part, due to the coaching staff. I have a love/hate relationship with Bowles. I hate that he sucks as a coach. I love that he's been so consistently terrible, that most organizations would have no choice but to fire him after this season. So, I expect the busted coverages, undisciplined penalties, and mind-numbing failures to manage a clock and gameplans to continue. The team will not get better until Todd Bowles is not coaching it. Let him keep on keeping on doing what he is doing, and it will be inevitable that he's gone. My only concern at this point is that he doesn't put our rookie QB in a hospital bed before the clock expires on the last game of the season.
Bowles doesn’t coach these guys on covering crossing patterns over the middle. We saw this all Jacksonville game. That shitty soft zone with linebackers who can’t cover comes back to bite them once again

If Belichick was here? Maybe a .500 record, but at least I'd be confident that there would be a foundation set regarding expectations, discipline, and responsibility for the upcoming season. Put it this way, with this very same talent, I wouldn't expect six pre-snap penalties in less than 25 minutes of play.
I haven't been able to watch much of the game, but had to have a bit of a laugh to log in and see that he punted again down two scores and with favorable field position to go for it. You'd think eventually he'd learn how to coach in these situations. Apparently not. This will be more to complain about when he is retained by Christopher Johnson after the season.
Since the Jets do not want to go out and get some high-end skill players, this pathetic futility can be expected for the indefinite near future.
I don’t think he was talking about Super Bowl but you downplay coaching to some extent. Didn’t Parcells come here and won games with Ray freaking Lucas? Good coaching will also help make your players better and put them in position to succeed.
I don't expect the "coaching to fix that in a week", but what I DO expect is to see the coaching do a better job than they've done. Bates' play calling is terrible. Sure there's a bunch of injuries, but you figure out what you have ans what you can do. And why would you punt the ball down 2 scores with 6 minutes to go? And why do you not go no-huddle under 10 minutes down 2 scores? This has nothing to do with injuries or player ability.
