Jets line isn't as bad as the Texans offensive line who has a QB that can also escape in Watson. Granted, I think the Jets line is below average to maybe average on a good day, but its not as bad as some other teams in this league. I agree, a statue in the pocket is a statue in the pocket but Darnold isn't under pressure every game.

Which is why, although I was a big Rosen booster, I'm glad we got Darnold instead (glad also because I like his skill set and character).

Sanchez had a better oline, rbs, and wr’s and a better defense... and threw a whopping 12 td’s and 20 int’s, at 53.8%. He was also 23 and played in dumbed down offense because he couldn’t read a defense. Even still people thought he could develop at the time, he just didn’t.

This is a ridiculous thread. Darnold is far more talented vs Sanchez in all respects + in all likelihood will be a top 5 qb in time. No one is doing what he has been doing at his age with no talent around him.

Rosen also has David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald (who's obviously past his prime) and looks pretty bad.

You had me until top 5 QB. Anything's possible but there are many levels between Sanchez and top 5 QB.

Those bashing Rosen, should really look at the horrible play-calling by now fired Mike McCoy. Rosen is in a horrible situation. Still the best pure passer of the draft, and he's made some really good throws when hes not on his back.

There is only one troubling stat to me about Darnold. From our own 21-50 yard line, Darnold is 51% completion and has thrown 8 of his 10 INTs on this portion of the field. Not only are his turnovers numerous, they also occur on our side of the field.

Rookie quarterbacks make dumb plays, it's part of the maturing process.

I'm not going to make excuses for his play, but anyone comparing Darnold to Sanchez needs to stop watching football. Period.

i actually want him to scramble more. he has a ton a running lanes that hes not taking advantage of when his targets arent open ... if he takes those 5-10 yard runs and makes something out of nothing, the defense will have to commit a spy and it will further open up his passing game

Is that worse than turnovers on their side of the field? A turnover on our side puts them in scoring position but one on their side takes us out of scoring position.

Probably the best O line in football. The NFLs number two RB. The NFLs number 1 running game, every young QBs best friend. A really talented receiving TE. Good WRs. The NFLs number 1 defense.

    No comparison on any level.

Now THIS is the TGG I know and love. I expect this thread to be updated weekly for the next 3 years. Might as well pin it.

The field position battle comes into play. It's hurt them consistently.

Sam's gotta be more careful. He's throwing from his heels a lot too.

Chad Pennington has been in the news a lot recently and has said all along that it's gonna take Sam a couple of years to adjust to everything. That patience is the key word here with Sam.

That last game proved that Chad has a good realistic read on it, and he's 100% spot on. There's gonna be highs and lows.

The OP hated Sam all along and even said he hates Sam's face after we picked him. As usual he likes to talk out of his ass sometimes

I thought that was his big upside coming out of college.

The ugly is gonna continue until we get healthy.

13 pages on a ridiculous subject. Least any of you forget, MS was eating hot dogs on the sideline, had the butt fumble and was a turnover waiting to happen not to mention. he need a color coded arm band because he was to slow (do not want to use stupid) to grasp the O.

    There is simply no comparison.
