Saw it as it happened, flying helmet to helmet neck hit by Vikings defender ended Powells career, no penalty and no replay from the announcers.... but they replay the Adams on thielen hit 5 fucking times.
This FORCES Macc to draft Offense as a priority now. There is no justification whatsoever to draft BPA-D with the offense in shambles for the most part.
Thanks for the memories, Bilal. One of the more underrated Jets and a real Jet at that not a fake, fraud merc like Forte was.
BLAOHW POWH. One of those players that never gave you anything to complain about. An announcer made the point in a game earlier this year that he seems more explosive now than he did earlier in his career. Probably could have given us another solid 3-4 years on a new deal, sucks if this is the end for him.
It's a shame that's how his career is going to end. He's never complained about playing time or money and showed up when many of the higher profile, and vastly higher paid, players quit on the team like complete bitches. That said, I'd like to see him have a future with the team in some capacity because he exemplified what "Play like a Jet' should mean.
Really sucks. Thank You Bilal Powell for being such a good competitor for us. Good luck with the surgery, and be well. It's guys like him that I want the team to succeed for.
With the way FA and the draft are shaping up I'd have to agree with you. I think the draft will be O heavy.....
I genuinely feel for Bilal- one of my favorite Jets all time. Played his role well, never in trouble, never had a huge contract. He was apart of some bad bad teams, and he never spoke out- just put his head down and continued to work. Get better Bilal!
Thanks Billal ..and speedy recovery If your time is up ..just remember TGG had your back and God Bless
Loyal, productive, and a class act. I’m really hopeful that he can recover. He will be missed, not the way he deserves to go out. Thanks!
As many others have said, I hope he recovers fully, and most importantly, isn't crippled. He was a great Jet, not based upon his stats but his heart. He'll be missed. But this also underscores yet another fail by Macc for not having taken some very good RBs in the the past couple of drafts. But hey! WE do have two Safeties....well, one and a half I guess. And given all the injuries to the receivers and RBs, and a mediocre - at best - OL, I'm going to be holding my breath that Darnold doesn't get hurt. The chickens are rapidly coming home to roost on Macc and his BPA-D philosophy.
