I also spent some time in the garment industry and if someone can tell me that Nike or somebody else has a huge order in for a few hundred thousand yards of a specific green, white, black, gold or silver and half a million embroidered patches I might begin to pay attention.
They are getting a big pre-order anyway. They are going to be updating their logo / uniform. All the old stuff will likely need to be marked down - for most retailers.
Yes, that's the bigger issue if theyre dropping hints..... trying to prevent pissed off customers that placed a large soon-to-be-obsolete order
The only reason I think the old 80s logo might be in play is because they are talking about bringing it back. I also, like the current uni's and don't see the need to change it.
I think everyone will be clearing out their inventory of the current logo. Retailers will be offered discounts in the next month or so to move the product
I guess if that's their way of maintaining some "nostalgia"..... but I'd just blow it all up if theyre going that route
People already have the current stuff. But if they continue to sell, then the discounts won't be so large I suppose. But retailers want to be out of the current stuff... at least I know we do.
Black is only my guess if the drastic change thing is real. It makes sense to me, but I don't know if that's something they would do. Purely speculation on my part about what a drastic change might be
Can you imagine how much stuff these guys have to make and they have to wait until the changes are finalized. Every hat, shirt, sweater, jacket, jersey, socks, window clings, coozies, etc etc etc

My cousin works for Weiden Kennedy (Nike's main ad agency). He used to DREAD championship weeks for sports (bowl games, etc) and wasnt too upset when he started handling other clients accounts
Those suppliers are great at getting Championship product out. The Red Sox stuff was on store shelves the next day! It's so amazing, but I can't imagine it being much fun!
Championship product is made here in the states. You can't get product to store shelves from Indonesia in 6 hours!!!!
Where was all the bitching the two weeks before? Its loser like to whine because your rebuilding, rookie QB led team loses to a team many have as a contender for the SB. Reality check is more important than the straight whine that most Jet fans on a board do all day long
